I have COPD and was using PG70/VG30 for the first 4 weeks of vaping. I ended up in urgent care for an exacerbation of my COPD. I read in another post that VG is not recommended for people with COPD. I also read somewhere (I have read so much I can't keep track) that people can be allergic to PG. So as this was my TENTH time quitting the combustibles and I was devastated to think that I could not use this method to quit.

I am now on a VG only liquid and for the past two months so far so good. I realize that COPD is a monster and that it can be triggered by spraying deodorant but this was the ONLY method that I have tried that worked. After 47 years of smoking and NINE attempts by any and every method, this works! Just not sure if it was the PG or VG that triggered it or environmental.

Anyone else with COPD experience a trigger reaction with either PG /VG or a combo?

I don't have COPD but I did develop an allergic reaction to the PG in my juices when I started the HCG diet a few months back. The PG was reacting to the HCG in my system. At first I thought I was getting a cold because I had a painful sore throat and drippy nose for days until I realized those symptoms only appeared after my first morning vape and got worse as the day progressed. I DIY my juice 100% VG cut with a little distilled water and organic flavors. I have to let it steep a lot longer but the symptoms disappeared. Would love to find some 100% pharmaceutical grade (not food grade) VG. Good luck to you!

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), also known as chronic obstructive lung disease (COLD), and chronic obstructive airway disease (COAD), among others, is a type of obstructive lung disease characterized by chronically poor airflow. It typically worsens over time. The main symptoms include shortness of breath, cough, and sputum production.[1] Most people with chronic bronchitis have COPD.[2]

im sure all who have COPD know what the acronym stands for but a little extra info doesnt hurt

I developed chronic bronchitis and asthma from deployments, wasn't too heavy of a smoker (1/2 pack-pack per day) and switched over to vaping. I've only been vaping for 5 months, but in that time I've gone from a heavy PG now to about 70-90% VG. I found out early that I have a PG allergy, so the beginning of vaping was a rough start, but after the first 2 months, everything has stabilized and my lung capacity has gone up 20%. I say to just try and stick with it trying to figure out what works best for you, but the number one priority is most definitely your health. Good luck with everything! :)
