Would you do it? Here's the deal, it's such an affordable mod, and I bet the build quality is a million times better than an eGo, plus the batteries are $5. Am I missing the point to be considering spending a few more dollars to get a Copper and use it with cartridges or cartomizers at 3.7v?

Really no interest in 6v, but I am interested in having a nice piece of hardware that lasts me forever and works with standard 510 accessories. Would it vape as nice as an eGo family pv at 3.7v? Also, would the Copper work with the eGo XL attys and carts?

Thanks, trying to decide between a Riva or just jumping straight to this and calling it good.

I have a hex copper that I run at 6v, but I would imagine that at 3.7v it would vape like a 14500 battery mod, so it should compare nicely to the ego. I've had my copper for almost a year now, and the thing is a solid performer. Never had any problems with it, and way you activate it works really well. If you get one that is 510 threaded, it should work with all the ego cartos and stuff.

But, keep in mind, the copper does look like a pipe bomb. Thats what all my friends call it, and you will get weird looks if you bring it out in public.

I would say if you don't really mind the looks of the copper, go for it. It's completely mechanical, built like a tank, and very reasonably priced.

I'll second what Flebo said. I've had my Copper for a year and used it solely with no problems. I use it with a 901. My only gripe would be that the only way to prevent accidental firing of the atomizer is to unscrew it almost completely. Once or twice I thought I had unscrewed it enough, carried it around in my coat pocket, and then found out that it had been firing in my pocket. Other than that, it's foolproof. And Rick was great to deal with.

After second guessing myself for a few days I bit and ordered one. For just a little bit more than a plastic, Chinese eGo it just seemed like a smarter buy.

Here's what I got, tell me what I need now:

1 Rounded Copper 510 3.7v
2 14500 batteries and charger
3 510 attys
1 LR 510 atty
7 blank carts
4 30ml bottles of juice to start

Looking forward to getting it and know I made the right choice instead of settling for something else and buying a mod anyway later. Thanks to ECF for answering my questions along the way!

Great start. If you don't mind saying, how much?

I like battery mods, I have a few that use 14500, i use them more than my ego. I especially like my BB from altsmoke.

i wonder if 2 protected CR2's would fit in the copper to give you 6V.

I asked Rick if he had a coupon code, which he did, and I got the starter package for only 75 bones. Great deal if you ask me. Yes, 2 CR2s turn the Copper into a 6v fog machine, which is actually Rick's vision for the Copper (6v + 4081 atty). I am starting with 3.7v + 510, but the option to go 6v is a battery swap away.

Good deal! Good luck with it.

Was 75 bones with batts and charger?

Congratulations on your new Copper, mlankton! I have 3 of them (R2V2, Rounded, and Mini), and find them to be pretty foolproof mods that require just about zero maintenance. No switches to break or malfunction is a biggie.....at least for me.
I vape solely at 3.7 on the Copper and find I get about 4 hours of pretty heavy vaping on the 14500. Polished up, the rounded Copper looks sweet..........not like a pipe bomb at all (IMHO). Good luck and enjoy. :D
Oh yeah, and Rick is a great guy to deal with.........you got a really good price for everything.

Good buy, Rick has been great to deal with for me too, very helpful guy. I have a rounded and a mini, both indestructable little vaping tanks. I've killed ego batts by just dropping them on a hardwood floor, but you can bounce these off concrete and they keep on going. Looking at the atty connection, an ego xl atty/carto would probably fit on it, too, but would look a bit strange, esp. on the mini...

Its ugly. The switch I hate. I have both the Ego and The Copper. The copper doesn't use protected batteries. The price is good but only if your going to use this as a 6volt mod. At 3.7 you could do way better for yourself. The ego wont give you as much voltage but its just so much easier to look at and carry around.

My Copper came with protected batteries, although I understand that for 3.7v use it's a non-issue.

Well, it's here and I love it. No button to push, the switch mechanism is the most natural thing in the world. You'll need a case instead of jamming it in your pocket, but for the price this is way cooler than some plastic Chinese thing. I made the right choice.
