I used the Zmax controller board out of a busted up clearmax mod.
The housing is 3/4″ L-type copper
Used acrylic to make a protective window for the display
Used a remote tac switch in place of the stock switch
two styles of acid etching on the body and caps.


Uses 1-18650 flat top or button top battery
Can also use 2x 18350 or cr123 batteries without an extension cap

From what I discovered, the stock switch on the z-max board has about 3.3 volts going through it. pressing the switch brings the voltage to 0 volts... So to answer your question, no. I don't have extensive knowledge in electronics but I think the smaller switch will last because there isn't any real power going through it. I could be wrong though. It would be nice to have more information on the z-max boards.
