Yeah, the restraint is the key on that atty.Eventually i'll get the feel for it on this one and not have to look every time, but for now,i still pull the cap every time haha.
Like i mentioned before though,it really surprised me,between the low air holes and the 24mm size,i was not going to even try this atty at first.I usually use 22mm small chamber rda's like the stumpy and derringer, because most of the bigger ones i've tried really didn't put out much flavor, but i'm glad i tried this one,it works very well for me.I did a set of stainless coils at 3mm,they came out at .35ohms,and it is great.

Besides restraint, I did something else I though might help. When wicking I usually cut the tails so they just reach the deck. On Coppervape I made them a good bit longer, thinned them heavily, and placed one along the deck outside the air tube, the other inside between the air tube and the center pin. Not sure how much that has helped, but I've yet to get any leaking out the air holes.

BTW, I'm running 2.5mm 24g SS also ~.3 ohm.

That is a Great Photo!

Love your slightly out of focus Dog in the Background with the Classic "Whatcha Doing?" Ears.

Yeah, had to get her into the shot, and made a squeaking noise so she'd look right at me. Otherwise, just another boring hand check. :)

Yes. I was using the upgraded contacts. However, I experimented with builds around .15 and it melted the insides of the mod. I sent it for service, received it back in an almost brand new condition and never built anything below .5 on it again. On my tube mechs I always stay below .2. Usually at .13 with 30 amp cells but Reo's internals were not designed to withstand builds like these, I guess.
What battery do you use in your Reo? The only thing that should've "melted" was the firing button... It was only designed to handle .2Ω and above. If you melted the delrin insert it was probably due to a short in your atty that caused that much heat. I used to run mine @ .2-.25Ω all day long every day with no problems. Actually there are a few people that do. Just an observation, but there isn't even a battery on the market that can handle a .15Ω build safely on a mechanical. LG is the only battery Mfg that has an actual 30amp battery in the HB6 and the HB4 Mustard...

Hi everybody! My two Coppervapes are coming tomorrow. My Reos could not handle very low builds. What would you choose as the lowest ohm build for this mod?

i'm running a .35ohm SS316L single coil build and a .3 dual nichrome80 build. using LG HE4 and Samsung 25r batteries. performing very well

I built the Coppervape atty. Have to agree with @b.m. Actually very good. I'm using the bottom air only, and with a little restraint it's not leaking down the air tubes. I'll push until it does just to see, but the problem I anticipated has not shown itself yet.

If you wick it right no juice will get into the bottom vents. The way I do it no juice even gets into the juice well. I can squonk it and turn it on its side or upside down and it doesn't leak. See this video: on a velocity build. Skip to the end to see how he wicks it. I make the wicks just a little longer and tuck them behind the bottom vents, then soak the wicks and clear the area around the juice feed screw. This forms a well out of the posts and wicks in the center of the atty. I squeeze juice right to the tops of the coils. What doesn't get absorbed by the wicks gets sucked back down. Nothing to leak! No restraint needed, you really need to work to accomplish flooding it.

You "squeeze juice right to the tops of the coils" on the Coppervape atty? That's something I would like to see. :) Pics please!

Kind of blurry, holding the mod in one hand and the phone in the other. Actually managed to get a little juice in the well from holding it like that. Didn't leak out, though.

You said juice to "the tops of the coils." :p

No matter. We and some others agree that it's not the leaker that it looks like it will be at first glance. I've had mine going for several days and I really like it. If you do get some juice in the air tubes a good pull clears it easily.

As far as bottom air dual coils go, have to say I like this kit atty much more than Tsunami, for example. Though still not as much as NoPity.

What? The juice does go to the tops of the coils, but only in the center!

Yeah, I really like the atty now that I've gotten it sorted out. I'm just kind of conditioned to pitching the atty that comes with a mod. Almost did, but I'm glad I didn't.

Okay, I see. :) How close are you keeping the bottom of the coils to the air tube opening? How close to the posts? Seems quite close.

Yes, it's definitely a high quality kit atty. Glad I tried it out as well Definitely in the rotation.

Well after reading all of the glowing reviews here, I have finally decided to snag one of these up. It will be my first mechanical squonker, first mech in over a year in fact. Anyways, I found the full kit (rda and extra bottle) over on focalecig and paired it with a coupon I found online. Total came out to $30.21, I feel like I've robbed someone! Haha

I put the coils up high near the top of the posts, and centered over the bottom vents. The wicks get stuffed behind the vents. This fills the whole middle up with cotton, but once you wet every thing down with juice you can push the wicks against the back of the vents to clear the space in the center over the juice feed. Between the wicks covering the backs of the vents and the posts on the sides, the juice has nowhere to go but up. Just a moderate squeeze will run it right to the top of the coils.

Oops! Been forgetting to pop in here. I've had my CV's for about 2 weeks now and I'M IN LOVE! Sanded and polished them up once they came and the brass was buttery gold for a few days and now has a lovely patina. I've been rocking my NarDA on the brass with a 10wrap of 26g 316L (2.5mm ID) Airflow halfway closed with some 6 nic and I'm in heaven.

I have an Origen Little clone on the way and a 16mm JMK machi ;) Those are gonna go on the aluminum Cv

If anyone wants I could throw a picture of my build up but it's pretty standard, just clean.

That's a great deal for a fantastic mod,and the fact that it comes with a good rda is a big plus.I wish they had more than just the bare aluminum though.I have that and the brass, and now want a black one,but don't want to pay the high shipping from Coppervape again, and neither Focal or Fasttech have the black yet, guess i'll have to wait a bit haha.

Definitely an interesting wicking method. :thumb:
