Yeah, after you posted about it,i had to google it,i had never heard of it either haha.Does it seem like it will be pretty durable and hold up?
So far it seems like it'll hold up great, but only time will tell. I'll let you all know when it starts to fall apart.

Nice discovery & application, sickbabies!
Is that sugru tough enough to pad the jaws of pliers? I have the habit of gouging my gear.
I'd say so. Would add a great deal of grip too!

If you look up videos for sugru there are all sorts of interesting applications people have come up with

Huh. Never heard of the stuff.

I can think of a bunch of uses for it after a quick Google. :)

I tried to use Plasti Dip to soften those pliers & found it too thin. It was the consistency of paint. Maybe I didn't know how to use it, but the experiment was a miserable failure.

I had a can of that Stuff (Brand ?) and it worked Great for things like Pliers. But the Can Lid didn't get screwed on tight one time. So it Dried out.

So I bought another Can (Brand ?) and it was Very Thin coating. I had to Dip 4 or 5 Times to get the same Thickness as the Original stuff.

Never knew if the 2nd Can was just an El Cheap-O Brand? Or if the State had required a Reformulation to Lower VOC's?

Lots of Stuff (Chemicals) like that used to work Better Back n' Day.

seems you can even diy the sugru. google
oogoo
and an instructables comes up.

"So that's it. Oogoo is corn starch and clear silicone caulk mixed together and then molded by hand or by forms to create just about anything you can imagine that needs to be adhesive initially and solid yet flexible when cured."

Yes! I found the DIY recipe the other day and will have to mix up a batch.

P.s. For anyone planning to do the same thing, I recommend screwing the screw partially into the removed button, and throwing that in the chuck of a drill and sculpting it like a lathe/pottery wheel.

Yeah, dual is definitely a bit warm, but i got it just where i wanted it,i like warm but not overly hot.I used 26 gauge SS,and wrapped a set that came out to right around .35 ohms, but the way SS raises the ohms as it heats up,after a few hits it ends up a bit over .5 ohms until it cools back down.
I haven't really looked into the snap dragon much, but i have heard from a few people that the 1.5 is better,so if they get it,i may check it out.

You seem to have things arriving at your house on the same day i find out they exist lol. The below review of the Snapdragon, although a clone of it by "FlavorChasers" peaked my interest .

The below is not the 1.5 version but it's worth a read.

I'm sure it could add some grip, but in terms of forming it into a concave top I don't think it would work. Although you could sculpt the button with clay or something and then dip!

Yeah... Those "Dip" type Liquid Rubber tend to just put a Consistent layer on whatever you have.

Might be Perfect if someone is looking for just a Softer Button. But if they wanted to Change the profile of it, then they would have to do something like you mentioned with that Clay.

When the button was still soft did you press fit it onto the button of the CV ?
