That is One of the Things that Attracted me to the Coppervape.

Leaking.

Because if you get a Leak in a Coppervape, yeah... that would be a PITA. But I can just take things apart and Rinse things in Warm Water.

But if my DripBox 60w Leaks, well... that could be a Big Problem!

All of my squonkers are mechs - two CopperVapes and three Reo P67s. More and more, that's nearly all I use. I have a few regulated mods and a few tube mechs, but find myself reaching for my squonkers most often.

I guess I prefer the simplicity and reliability.

I love my DripBox 60w Mod. Love how Thin it is. And use it about 1/2 the time when I'm at Home.

But I am Leery of how long it will last. And wanted a Squonker that wasn't dependent on a Circuit Board.

Couldn't be Happier with my Coppervape. And there just Isn't much that can go wrong that I can't Fix.

+1 Thin and light. So perfect for the shirt pocket, especially with Origen Little attached. Even if you oversquonk a drop, or get condensation around the air holes, the smaller size prevents contact and staining shirt fabric.

Light is Right. LOL.

BTW - Ya know what would be Cool? And that is if CV made an 18500 Bottom Half add on. As well as a Complete 18500 Mod.

I did the CAD Design for one using these Bottles.

$2.65 Empty Needle Refiller Bottle for E-Liquid (10-Pack) 10-pack - 5ml / PE / orange at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

It was Scary how well the Dimensions feel into place using a Shorter Bottle (5ml) with a Shorter Battery (18500). Alsomost a Perfect Reduction in Length.

Just have gotten a Machining window lately to CNC a Prototype.

Post the drawing. :) Yeah, would get down to Pico Squeeze height. With small build the 1100 mAh could be passable.

Here is a Quick n' Dirty 2D shot of the Lower Portion that CV could make.

CV_18500.jpg

If the Other Dims are kept the same, then the Top would work on either the 18500 version or the Existing 18650 version that people may already have.

BTW - The Top Portion is .390" High. So the Overall Height would be 2.650" (65mm) Button Not Included.

BTW - I see the Purpose of this 18500 Lower Section to not so much Replace the 18650 Section for Day-2-Day vaping. More as for an On-the-Go option.

I reached for my Pico Squeeze when I'm walking out the door to do Errands. Because it is Smaller and Lighter than my CV.

I think it would be Nice to just be able to Slap my current Top Cover onto a 18500 Lower section and away you go.

I have a couple FDV screws. I might try those on the CV this weekend. I use 90+% VG juice and it might give some benefit. Definitely not going to drill out screws.
Reply to self: I looked at the FDV screws and decided that the difference in size of the holes wasn't worth the effort. Upon further consideration, I realized that my attys with slotted screws actually squonked easier than the ones with the center vent hole. I slotted a FDV screw, put it in the atty and sanded the head down with a random orbit sander and put it in the atty. It worked perfectly, but the juice flow is still restricted by the identical size screw in the mod. I took that screw out and slotted it as well. I put in a tiny nylon washer where it screws to the juice bottle to hopefully prevent leakage from the slot. It works so well I can flood juice out the bottom vents with one easy squeeze.

There's nowhere to go - when juice goes up to the pin, it's already "inside" the 510 connection.
It would have to make it through all the threading to get "outside" to anyplace you'd see it as a leak...

I think.

I'm new to squonking. What I'm struggling to understand is when the squonk pin is slotted, why doesn't the juice leak out of the slots rather than travelling up the tube?

As Train mentioned, where can the e-Liquid go? It is Inside the 510 Threaded piece.

Take a 510 Pin out of one of your RTA or Tanks. What do you see? Just a Hole with an Insulator in it.

If you screwed your Pin-Less RTA/Tank onto a Squonk Mod and Squonked it, the e-Liquid would just be Pushed up thru the Hole where the 510 Pin was.

In other news, I won a brass Coppervape in a Gearbest contest over here!!

It's kind of complicated, with occasional rule adjustments, but basically you post, up to 5x/day, a list of stuff you'd like to win from Gearbest that HAS to total between $60 and $70. If you get random picked, you win that stuff.

When you slot the pin on the atty, it is sitting inside the insulator which acts as a tube. If the slot is contained and the juice has no where to go but up, that's what it does. Slotting the screw on the mod, the slot is contained where it screws onto the bottle, the washer against the brass strip, the hole in the brass strip, the washer between the brass strip and the 510 connection, and inside the 510 connection threads. If everything is tight and the threads are good, no leak. If it isn't tight, it _will_ leak. So far so good. If it becomes a problem, which I don't think it will, I can put the old screw back in and go back to long, slow squeezes.
