Was an analog person for 35 years. I stuffed my own for the last 8 years. That was $15/ carton until the guv'ment caught on and doubled it. I've already spent my monthly smoke budget on e-cigs in three days, BUT I'M NOT SMOKING!

I feel better, I'm beginning to smell things better (which is not necessarily an awesome thing), food tastes better. I feel easily liberated after decades of tobacco use. I'm very new to this vaping thang, but I'm pretty excited. Haven't been crushed with a craving yet, and I'm still stuck vaping the convenience store stuff (ordered real equipment last night).

However, I recognize my addictive tendencies, and I'm a bit wary of this new.. pastime. Two and a half years ago I found my way to disc golf, and I now own... a lot of what most of you would call 'frisbees'.

Yet, finding that game truly re-energized a part of my life, and I still pursue it passionately. Just giving an njoy disposable a shot changed my life too. I CAN quit smoking.

I actually feel quite emotional about it as I conclude day 4 without a smidge of smoke. I thank the members of this forum and the enthusiasm so evident here.

What was your monthly spend on cigs and how long do you expect you 'purchase' to last ?
With cans of Am. Spirit and tubes, I'd have to say about $120- $150/ month. I realize I'm just floundering around with vaping at the moment, and hope to settle in to something.

I didn't want to pick up vaping. I just wanted to quit smoking cigarettes. "BAM", like Emeril says.

Congrats! 4 days is huge! Vaping will become the "norm" for your life and you'll continue to feel better and eventually HATE the smell of the stinkies :) No matter how much it costs, it is worth getting away from tobacco. Let's face it, even at $1,000.00 who cares. We all blow a hundred just going out to dinner with a few drinks and all that ends up in the toilet...LOL. Purchasing quality equipment for sustained enjoyment and ridding ourselves of the tobacco slave is PRICELESS :)

You think you can taste better and breath better now?.....ooooh you are in for a treat my friend:)...When I smoked half a pack a day, I still kept a relatively active lifestyle, played volleyball 2-4 nights a week, and I could keep up. I never had amazing cardio, but I did okay. I thought I was fine...2 months after quitting smoking, and I feel completely different...Now I know when I played volleyball in the past, I was dying on the court. Playing volleyball now, I feel amaaaazing...and I'm only two months in. I actually still am trying to slowly adjust my breathing style. When I smoked, my breathing was always shallow, Now I take a light breathe, and I catch myself and keep breathing...and breathing and breathing...I think we literally seal off the the top portion of our lung capacity, and just forget about it because as smokers if we used it, it probably was soon followed by coughing and hacking...

Sorry to rant, but you're excited, so I get excited...:)...Welcome to ECF!!!!

It seems pretty common to splurge on large amounts of kit at first. I know I have. Perhaps its the psychological element of cutting the ties on something we become so dependent on that causes the obsession. I'm sure you will settle into a setup that suits your needs and your spending will tail off. Any way you look at it, its impossible to put a price on your health.

Oh and welcome to the forums :)
