I recently acquired an 18650 NoEgo from a trade. It worked fine when I got it.
The problem was the cheap charger I had for the batt, it did not make a good connection
with the negative end of batt. I emailed JazzCartoPipe to ask if it would charge like an Ego
with the Ego Usb Charger. I got a response back that they had not confirmed it, but another
user had claimed it worked.
I went ahead and tried, knowing I was taking a risk if it didn't work. It seemed to work, although
it did take several hours as I figured it would. I checked the voltage on batt and it was fine.
Later however, when I went to use the unit, it fired continuously when I screwed in a carto even
though the switch did not light up. When I took the switch off and then put it back on the button
blinked 3 times, stuttered a little, then blinked 5 times fast. The switch would not light up when
pressed and again fired continuously when I screwed in a different carto.
At this point I figured the switch is fried. I took a gamble and lost. I went on the site to see about
ordering a replacement switch but could not find a link for parts. I sent an email and they replied
that the switch would be $20 plus $5 for shipping. The whole unit is $35 and they want $25 for
a replacement switch.
What do you all think? Is that a fair price for a replacement part?
Does anyone know if somebody else carries a similar model? The E-Power is not compatible.
Has anyone else experienced this or know of a fix?
