The cotton bvc coil with the bigger holes seems a lot wetter vape and doesn't last me nearly as long as the old ceramic coils. I vape at 4.5v. Does anyone think these newer coils can be vaped at a higher voltage ? I think I prefer the old ones. I got more throat hit and was a lot drier vape. What do other think ?

I assume nautilus, I vape mine between 5v ~ 5.6v all the time using clear non sweet 50/50 liquids.
You can try going higher, there aren't any rules saying you can't.
If you use dark, thick & especially sweet juices which tend to clog wicking material & gunk coils rapidly you may get a burnt, odd, off or funky taste.
