Cotton Candy = Ethyl Malto ??

Not sure on other brands,but tfa's cotton candy is a 10% ethyl maltol pg solution.The regular cotton candy,i dont know what the circus cotton candy is though.

I thought it was then read that some taste like cotton candy. I bought some flavoring from DIY Flavorshack and sure enough it smells and tastes like cotton candy. Maybe it depends on where you buy it.

Thanks. Main reason I was wondering is b/c I saw a few recipes calling for cotton candy. Wonder if I can just use the EM I have on hand, or if I should pick some CC up next time I make a diy shopping trip.

Anytime i see cotton candy in a recipe,that's what i do,i just use my em and it comes out good.Take your em solution,put a small drop on your finger and taste it,very authentic cotton candy taste.

Should be the same.
In lower percentages, it just works as a sweetener, without a cotton candy FLAVOR.
Higher concentrations, you get the cotton candy effect.
So if it's a recipe using it to sweeten, start "low"...

This is just an observation on my part but I noticed that the juices I made that had sweetener added to them seemed to gunk up my coils worse than the same juice without them. (I made them both ways to see which I liked better). I make my recipes at 50/50 pg and vg. With a higher vg percentage your juice will be sweeter anyway because vg has a sweetness to it. You may find that there is no need for the additional additive. Again, just my . Happy mixing to you.

I'm vaping 100% vg unflavored and it has almost no sweetness. That is what I added the CC to in a small sample. 50/50 on the other hand has some sweetness.

That's weird.I've never vaped all vg,but when i put a drop of vg on my finger it has a nice sweetness to it.You would think that sweetness would come through in a vape as well,but maybe heating it on the coil changes something.Good to know though,learn something new everyday.

Actually I have read that vg will mess with your blood sugar so it should be sweet.

Yeah,like i said i've never vaped all or very high vg,so i just assumed that sweetness would carry through.If it did,i think that in itself would make a good vape,i know when i tasted it on my finger it had a pretty good taste to it,which i use tank type atties most of the time so real high vg wouldn't work to well for me anyway,but if it did stay sweet like that then i think i would find a way to make it work in my tanks haha.

I'm wondering if the perceived sweetness of VG reduces with increased nicotine. I vape 90% VG, 10% water, 33 mg/ml nic and only detect a slight sweetness. Of course everyone's taste is different, and the sweetness might vary between suppliers (although it does not seem like it should).

I'm at 9 or 12 mg and no water. Bought nic in vg from DIY Flavorshack, clear with no taste really.

I'm having some mouth swelling and trying to figure out if it is the pg or some flavoring. I was doing 25 or 30 % pg to 75 or 70 vg then went back to 5050.

I was under the impression that VG is sometimes used in foods as a sweetener. But yea, maybe the sweetness doesn't come through when you vape it.
