cotton question

how long does a cotton wick generally last ? i am looking at rebuilding my kanger style coils with cotton, any info would be great...

It really depends on the liquid you use and what ohms you build your coil.

I generally build a 1.6 28 ga - 9 wraps. The Virus will nuke a coil and cotton in a day or two but it's well worth it. Lighter juice I can go three to four days before I rewick.

thanks for the info, i have never seen or tried virus, what type of juice/flavor is it, and can you clarify on lighter, is it color wise ? or something else ? sorry still pretty new to this, just searching for flavor

truckwrench1, I should have also said wrapped on a 5/64 bit. Fit's inside of the base nicely and produces a real good vape in Kangers. I use the PT2 with AFC.

The Virus is a darker (yes color wise) liquid made by Nicoticket, they have a bunch of real good liquids, all very tasty.

The lighter juices, like fruits tend to be a little more forgiving and the cotton and coil go a longer distance. Open Source Vapors has some real good liquids too and I get more distance out of my coil & cotton.

As stated, it depends on the juice. I have some that will trash the coil and wick in no time and others that I can go a week without having to rewick and the coil is still useable.

I've been using cotton in my RDA with a .7 ohm build and the cotton only lasts me about 24 hours with Space Jam Pluto in it. It's a darker colored juice that is supposed to taste like bubblegum, watermelon, and little bit of mint. It's actually really good. But the good thing is there isn't any shortage of cotton so vape away.

My coils gunk up in a day or two, but the cotton is usually in pretty good shape. Nice thing about cotton is you can yank it out, dry burn your coil, and stick a new piece of cotton in and you're good to go.

Last thing, give koh gen do cotton a try. It comes in pads but is super easy to work with and produces great flavor.

My coils will survive my base mix with just tad bit of fruit flavoring for a few weeks. However, my purchased golden brown vanilla custard will destroy a RDA coil assembly after a day or so.

I re-wick every 3 days on a big block 454 rda dual micro coils at .7 ohm. The only time I re wick sooner is if I'm changing coils or flavor.

I suggest looking into cellucotton\rayon for longer lasting wicks and easy to work with. Good thread about it on this forum.

Cotton lasts me about 2-4 days. I recently picked up some rayon and it's lasting much longer!

cotton lasts me about 3 days on protanks before getting too leaky, and if I keep using it for a week, after a week or so it might get more burnt taste.
