Cotton Wick Question

Question-Clarification: When using the Peaches and Cream yarn, you boil like 2 feet at a time for 20 minutes? Correct or not?

I boil 3 or 4 feet at a time. I bring the water to a boil then set the timer for 10 minutes. Bring the pot of water to the sink and overflow it. You want what ever sizing etc you boiled off out of the pot without recontaminating the cotton. Repeat 2 more times.

That's just how I do it... Then let it sit overnight to dry

Sounds good to me! I boil it twice for about 10 min or so an d let it dry thoroughly. Should be fine!

Just one more question, Im seeing people discuss using gauze and cotton balls for their wicks in RDAs. Would you boil those as well?

You could buy sterile and avoid the boiling. I don´t think they boil cotton balls.

I use the peaches and cream and haven´t boiled it... Am I too careless?

I boil everything including sterile gauze and cheesecloth. The only thing I don't boil is silica, which I torch.

Possibly being overly cautious, but it's pretty quick and I feel better about it.

I don't boil the cotton balls and get nothing but pure flavor. With string or yarn, boiling removed any contaminants
and I still got an earthy taste. Converted to cotton balls!
