I just got the njoy NPRO yesterday. It really does feel like a regular smoke except without all the nast.
However one thing concerns me. I have been coughing quite a bit, often with phlem. My chest hurts and I'm worried that I might have to stop. Analogs don't even make me cough like this. I haven't completely given analogs up either. I have been smoking them less in favor of the e-cig.

Has anyone else experienced this coughing? I woke up this morning and had the taste of the e-cig in my mouth. Then came the coughing.

As with anything like this, if it persists, see your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry. It is possible that you are experiencing a cleansing process as you cut way down on real cigarettes(we call them analogs a lot here).

If you check the forums you should see some about symptoms. It's a good read. Oh, and I experienced the same as you but if you are worried, get checked out by your doctor. BTW...welcome to the forums.

Oh, and listen to JustJulie. She's like the past E.F. Hutton commercial except "When JustJulie speaks, I listen" :)

Actually, it's not that unusual:

It may also be a sign that you're sensitive or allergic to PG (propylene glycol). If the coughing doesn't get better in a week or so, you might want to try a VG (vegetable glycerin) e-liquid. Johnson Creek makes a VG solution--I'm not sure who else might.

I couldn't have said that better Julie! Eastmall also sells VG e-liquid if you ever wanted to purchase a larger amount. But I would experiment with Johnson Creek before you invest too much...

I had the same thing happen when I switched. I would see a doctor if symptoms persist. I would also imagine it is a problem with the PG or just cleansing. It went away after a week or two for me. As for tightness in my chest I noticed that when I cut my pg liquids in half with some vg I feel a ton better! I also notice that the units that require drgging to activate the atomizer seem to make me feel like I'm collapsing my lungs. In the future, you might consider a unit that has a manual switch? My NPRO simply drags too hard for my tastes, and it just hurts my chest...so I don't use it much any more (but I do hold them to their warranty, so if my fav units fail, I do have a brand new NPRO sitting there as a back-up, they are very good at holding up their deal!).

Glad you made the switch! Hope you get to feeling better, remember, see a doctor if you don't feel better soon!
