Every now and then (happens more frequently than I'd like) I have a coughing fit after taking a puff. It doesn't happen all the time - when it doesn't, my vapes are smooth and satisfying. It's so unpredictable though, I've even resorted in buying a pack of analogs just so I've got something for when it does happen. Not ideal at all.

Here are my deets:
mouth to lung inhaler
setup: MVP 3 Pro with Starre tank running the .25 ohm coil at 60 watts - not a super warm vape, got the airflow wide open
juice: currently it's BPM by drip beats at 3mg can't find what PG/VG ratio it is

not sure what other info would be useful. Any suggestions/ideas as to what could cause this are most appreciated. Seasonal allergies perhaps?

I occasionally get that but it's very rare. Almost like it went down the wrong pipe.

1) Wattage to high for a MTL hit, vapor is to dense and warm, not enough airflow to keep the coil cool enough
2) Having been vaping a while I've gone through what will cause me to choke or not depending on wattage, pg/vg ratio, and air flow, certain liquid flavors even when previous stated variables are adjusted for will choke me up. Myself I've identified, Blue Raspberry, Pineapple, certain peach flavors, butter scotch, pomegranate, and grape will choke me up, feels like a wet dart to the back of the throat the first few initial vapes that get me, keep vaping it subsides, but set the vape aside a bit then pick it back up, back to the wet tickling dart sensation again.

Could be the juice, regardless of the diketone content - there's one popular brand of juice that I liked well enough taste-wise, but even in a low-powered Nautilus, it would just rip my lungs out. Have you tried mouth-to-lung instead of the direct lung? That would sometimes help me when the coughing jags were hitting... In my case I suspect it was the PG content, perhaps even the specific PG that brand uses. I don't seem to have the same problem with any brand of higher VG juices.

Could be the diketones...
The description of the flavor is very suspicious-

BPMSmooth Butter Increase Beats of Texas Pecans Finished With Creamy Ice Cream

You really need to READ UP and stop the Scare tactics.
ohhhhhhhhhh Suspicious..........why, oh because it said Ice Cream:facepalm:

60 watts and an improper inhale are more likely.

Diketones Take years to possibly contribute to any issues even with heavy exposure. Look at Case/exposure rates.

This has to be the most craziest statement I have ever heard. No not ideal, buy some cough sweets or something, drink some water but to buy some cigarettes, that my friend, is crazy, especially if your trying to stop smoking, why would you do that? Your cough is probably more to do with smoking and then vaping, your body has to adjust.

You may also be sensitive to PG, buy some high or max VG juice and see if that helps..

Since you bougt a pack of cigs, does that mean you are a duel user? Or did you buy it "just in case"? It is unclear, in your statement. If you are using both, that's not going to help you adjust to vaping. Also, knowing your pg/vg ratio is very important. It could mean either a) you are sensitive to pg or vg. Or b) heavy vg can "coat" or irritate your throat or lungs. This is especially true if you are prone to asthma. And sub-ohming compounds the issue. Where did you get your juice? It should be easy enough to search the site, or ask about the blend. Same goes for a b&m, if you got it there. If need be, you can then adjust accordingly.
