ok...for the past week, every morning when i take my first vape... from my 801 or 901 i start to cough.

i will cough for the first few hits then the coughing goes away. its not a raunchy smokers cough...i remember what that was like.

it doesn't matter what flavor either....what could be causing it...does it happen to you:confused:

I think that happened to me for just a day or two. Yeah it wasn't like a smokers hack, just a short cough. What caused it for me I believe was: Since that first smoke is sooo important I made sure to fill the hell out of my cart and was taking LONG drags to get the most out of it. Having all that vapor in my lungs just woke them up a bit and I was coughing because of all the crap that was already still in my lungs, not because of the e-cig itself.

It did go away very quickly for me though.

kate.....it sounds like a possibility.

i never had a cough in the morning with my first analog in the morning.

could be the nicotine liquid is more potent.

i tried it with the bestecig 24mg menthol and the various flavors of the JC sampler in 11mg...still get the same morning cough.

oh..and also..i did forget to mention that i had a bout a 4 hour gap in vaping yesterday when i was out with the family and i got the same cough when i took a hit.

There is a very simple solution to this....drink water when you wake up.

You're coughing because you're dehydrated from the night's rest. You should always be drinking something when e-smoking.

Your throat is dry and needs to be coated. I have a longer post on this in the America's forum. Anyway, to circumvent, you need to drink something to "coat" your throat.

You'll have this same issue if you exert yourself a lot and try to e-smoke without drinking. You'll also have the same problem if you e-smoke for about 30 minutes straight without a drink of something.

Remember, tobacco contains several chemicals...about 20 of those chemicals are designed to have your body produce saliva to prevent this type of coughing.
