I just got a new 510 yesterday and used it with no problem. Today Im using it and coughing... any ideas out there?

The PG takes some getting used to. You may start to get a dry throat as well. That will go away with time. PG may also be an irritant to you. Only time will tell. If it is, there are places that sell VG (vegetable glycerine) juice. It's an alternative to PG and produces more vapor but is lighter on the throat (in my opinion). I often cut my PG juices with VG to reduce the harshness in some of my juices. You may also be taking deep inhalations. If you are, try to relax your lips and breathe normally when you inhale. I notice that sometimes when I take a deep inhale, I get the urge to cough.

Unless you give details, you probably aren't going to get very detailed suggestions as to the problem.

My guess is your lungs are clearing out the analog tobacco. Happened every time I tried to quit smoking after a day or two.
You must have been an analog "Slave"!

Oh yeh..that. My wife and I both stopped smoking analogs the same day and the counter is set up to count both of us. Can't get one that says "We" have been smoke free....

I coughed the first day or so and my throat was irritated. In addition, vaping for me seems to have a greater throat hit than my cigarettes did. I vape 36 mg, the 24 mg was just not sufficient enough—cigarette cravings were too strong.
I have had 2 analogs in 14 hours
I was a 2 pk a day smoker
I vaped until my battery ran out, which was about an hour
Im using stock high strength juice from e-cigs

I had a couple analogs after I started vaping. I was running around with a friend and my battery died. Big lesson learned, never leave home without spares of everything.
The first analog made me cough, the second made me cough for hours.
I started having a productive cough about a month after I started vaping. Now, at 6 months, I have again started coughing. I don't have a clue if lungs are clearing again or if it's from the PG. (I don't use straight VG).
I just ordered a new battery... I think I am going to smoke an analog here and there without one.
Are you sick at all or feel like getting sick? I seem to be having the coughing issue but because I'm sick. For some reason the vapor is sensitive to my throat. It's so annoying I want to get better so I can really enjoy it! lol
No m not sick, just have a reflex to cough when the vapor hits the back of my throat. Its better after a bit of vaping, so I think I may just need to get used to it.
Need to drink lots of liquid before you vape dude. it helps.. I normally get a cough if i wake up and first thing i want is my e-cig >.< that makes me cough..
Even if i get up get ready for work and driving there and after a while i realize wait i didn't take a drag out of my puppy yet.. and when i do i cough...
So don't be worry about it after a while it tends to break down and would go away.

I haven't tried the 510, but I have tried the 2 piece cartomizer unit, which also is said to run hot. I had the same problem that you did, and while I did eventually get used to it, I also found that a penstyle (especially with a VG liquid) was still much easier on the throat.
Such a harsh nasty taste!
Extra batty definitely, extra fluids definitely!!!

If you want to get off the analogs, have the tools to make it happen.
I've seen more people succeed using vaping as an alternative than anything else available.
For most of us it is purely enjoyable, sometimes too much so!
