I just purchased these from clouds of vapor (Bruce from CoV has since REMOVED all of these from the website, and agreed to refund anyone who purchased without return of the battery, great job CoV!) 2 days ago... as a matter of fact i still have a shipment of a couple coming in..

Please beware, the counterfeit people aren't even using the SAME batteries in each trustfire counterfeit... I'm unwrapping another one now and it's GREEN

They don't fit because it's a generic (B&K I think is what it says) battery with a protection circuit slapped onto it, rewrapped with a trustfire jacket.

The reason they are too big is because the protection circuit is sitting on top of the battery (Not inside the actual shrink wrap) with the extra trustfire jacket on top... ridiculous

sticking with AW IC 14500s now

What makes a battery counterfeit? I understand they are a different size, but has anyone tested these otherwise?

B&K(H)14500G20-750mAh

B&K is not trustfire! Trustfires are *damn good batteries* when compared to these no-name chinese manufacturers..there's a reason why nobody stocks B&K batteries and trustfire flames are sold out everywhere

I thought you said BDL. Opinions vary on batteries, and if you don't think Trustfires are made in China you need to think again. MOST ecig stuff comes from China.

I did say BDL I was confused, sorry. I only just recently got the wrapper down far enough to see the name, and I only took a glimpse... I confused them with the BDL IMR high-drains CoV sells.

It's really B&K. I'll post a more clear picture if I can get a digital camera, my laptop webcam kind of sucks.

And uhh.. I know trustfire's are made in china. I know every lithium battery we use is made in china... that's not what I'm trying to say.

And what about selling two completely different batteries, shrinkwrapped together... 750mAh and 800mAh different internal resistance. That's just crazy and unsafe to try to pass them off as the same exact battery.

I actually want to know what battery it is and whether it has equal quality. Companies often make things that go out under different labels and it could be that there was a manufacturing screwup. I'm also wondering why he's making a stink against a brand and merchant instead of contacting his merchant. I get tired of the crusades. Crap happens.

Yeah crap happens,,,,, mistakes happen,,,,, but this is outright wrong. One battery wrapped with another battery cover is not a mistake. Geeeesh he's just trying to warn others man. Some newer people may not know the difference and I think it's pretty good info for newbs or even some seasoned people to be aware of.

What is wrong with you? It's not a stink and I'm not trying to tarnish the merchant. I'm trying to warn people because this could be a safety concern. It's not a safe.

I highly doubt this is some sort of screwup, this seems intentional. The trustfire jacket is placed ON TOP OF a protection circuit that is slapped on top of a wrapped battery. THIS IS NOT HOW A PROTECTED BATTERY IS NORMALLY PRODUCED.

Take a look at this video, this man found the same exact thing with a different vendor, and explains the problem MUCH better than I can.

This is exactly the same thing I found with my batteries from clouds of vapor.

Well that last part sounds ugly. I actually thought that you had posted and then someone added a video of a similar situation, I didn't quite click that the video was yours. You just need to get with Bruce, this kind of thing does happen, straight out of the manufacturers. Hopefully it isn't very prevalent as there isn't much of an option for people ordering online to inspect their goods first....

I love clouds of vapor and will be ordering my AW IC 14500s from them.. and I get my AW IMR from them... I have nothing against them and they are a great supplier and I understand there's no way to really know until someone reports it.

I'm just wanting to let people know who might have purchased these. There was a stock of 40 of them when I bought mine, now there's 18. That means there's about 18 other batteries floating out there that could be potentially unsafe.

I have some of the flame jackets from 6 months ago. Out of curiosity and being hesitant to use them, I peel them back. Everything 6 months ago look fine and they all are the same voltage.

Thanks for the heads up. I was going to order another couple sets until I saw all of this going on. I believe I will be ordering AW's instead.

I don't really complain all that much but you will find more then one post of mine cussing about batteries from china. They lie about there crap and now you even got to worry about counterfeits. One of the reasons my mod rolls with 18650 batteries made in Japan or Korea. But with 14500 you pretty much have no choice but to go with China made. I would say AW is a safe bet , but pretty sure there will be knock offs of them soon if not already. Makes me want to take a baseball bat and smack china made batteries back across the sea to the land of cheap labor.:2cool:
