Well, at least it was on purpose.

I accidentally bought a fake Kick from a B&M... said it was variable voltage and the price yelled AUTHENTIC... turned out to be a fake variable wattage. First one failed after 3 puffs, second one has been working great though. Talked to the store worker, they took care of it right then and there... and then we went through some of their stock. Didn't find anything else mis-labeled. I'm glad they were at least willing to yank something from the shelf while I was there, no telling how quickly it would return to the shelf though. Too much price difference some times.

Glad to hear you seemed to get one of the ghost-shift type fakes that is quality.

Bistol, U.K
My local vape shop sells genuine Kanger, smok and Aspire but everything else in their cases are clones.

I have had a good look through their clone range, judging dimension, looks and build quality and have decided to order direct from a Chinese factory direct saving more than 100% on their prices.

What bugs me is there is no mention of them being clones and at £40 (about 60-70 usd) it would be quite easy for a newb to mistake them for the real deal.

I'm glad my pockets weren't heavier the first time I went shopping there, I'd have surely walked out with a substandard clone. As it was I walked out with a cloned Omega with a left hand post that has a 45 degree angle on the hole, makes building on it a pain in the ....!

On the other hand the Rocket RBA I got on my second visit seems to be a perfect 1:1 clone with no problems at all.

Given the choice I'd buy genuine, but lack of availability and funds force me to experiment with clones with a view to purchasing genuine mods and atties when I find ones I really get on with. I do take them with a pinch of salt however, I wouldn't judge a real Omega by my substandard clone!

JimmyDB: A counterfeit Kick module worries the hell out of me given the temperament of some lower quality batteries on the market..more so the clones of those!

Even though they may be last years hype I still purchase AW 1600mAh 18650's, as I know the seller I buy from is a cast iron authorised AW reseller and I'm not going to end up with a bomb in my mod!

I did end up taking the kick apart and looking at it under the scope, everything looks OK on this one, then again I have seen empty packages without the guts in them... can be a cut-throat industry. Either way the solder job was good, solder itself looked good, in general the parts didn't look overly cheap... even the PCB itself had decent routing etc.

The insides of the Orbit Pro battery I had, which released its smoke quite suddenly and without merit IMHO, that is a different story. I have literally seen first timers do a better job.

I only have a single normal battery that was purchased just for vaping (VTC4 bought locally and inspected), I have had all the rest of my Li+ for various amounts of time, no worries there.
