i've heard a few different opinions on this. how long does an 801 new battery need to charge b4 it's very first use. i've heard times ranging from 3 hours to 12 hours. oh geesh i hope the general concensus does not end up being 12 hours. that would drive me mad 8-o

also does vaping help curb your appetite. this is one reason why i've been afraid to put down analogs. i've lost 150 pounds and don't want to find ANY of it :sneaky:

It doesn't hurt the battery to use it partially charged. Everything I've read about the lith-ion batteries is that you don't have to train them by doing a first long charge. On the weight thing, I think I have lost weight since I started vaping. My problem was that I wanted something sweet after meals, but since I started vaping I have been putting something sweet in to vape instead and it satisfies that craving.

Did it come charged? A good majority of them do. Did you get more than one battery? It is good to charge it 8-12 hours for the first time so maybe you can do it over night? And yes, nicotine curbs the appetite so no worries there... I havent gained a pound since quitting analogs and vaping :)

You should get a PCC and a USB passthrough so you'll always be charging :p

True! Despite many manufacturers recommend long first charge (6-8-10 hours), Li-Ion batteries have an electronic circuit that controls the charging process and prevents overcharging or draining below certain voltage level. Even if you have intention the let battery stay in the charger for that long, you will notice that the battery charge indicator will turn green after only 2-3h. At this point the electronic circuit inside battery disconnects the element from charger and it is no longer needed to keep this battery there.

Hey KentC, thanks for posting that article! I was wondering the same thing about my E-Cig, and now I know that after about an hour is should be at about 70% charge. I'll test my battery life length at that point and go from there.

Pretty excited to have this thing. I smoked a pack a day for about 15 years, and in the past year have essentially quit. I still will have a smoke here and there, especially if I'm having some friends over who smoke and we're knocking a few back. Figured if I'm going to have a smoke here and there, why not make it one that I can enjoy without the guilt?

Hope it works out!

It should. I've really gotten over any consideration on vaping in public.... never had any realy and no problems so far just questions on where do I get one of those? :) That whole batteryuniversity site is well respected for it's expertise and good reading as well..... learned a lot there early on.
