Ok so Ive been vaping for almost a year now and my adv is a nemesis mech mod with atomic on top. I also have plum veil, vertex v2, and a veritas simply because I'm a flavor chaser but I do like a little bit of a throat hit and a decent amount of vapor but anyways I've been wanting to get a vv vw device because it seems like the coils I build are too big and the mech mod is just not enough power or it takes 5 seconds to heat up And to me a 4 wrap coil produces way way too much heat and no flavor.. So my question is do you guys thing a vv vw device is for me and how does a vw device that houses a single 18650 battery produce more volts, watts than a mech mod that houses the same 18650 battery.. I like dual 12 wrap coils and a my vtc3 battery's in a nemesis will not heat them up fast enough.. Any thoughts will be appreciated and these are my opinions and if I am wrong on all this someone please correct me i wouldn't consider myself a newbie but neither an expert.. I have built every coil I've seen built on YouTube and 98% of them are just not for me.. Thanks,

My second question is is there such a thing as bad kanthall I usually buy the cheapest on eBay at the time and I'm just curious if The cheap kanthall is different than the expensive kanthall.. Like I said thank you guys for any info and I don't know what I would do without you guys and this forum..

Hello,

I am not a supper tech guru type but I can share my experience. With all of the new vv/vw boxes out lately I have kind-of left behind the mechs for mostly the same reason you are mentioning. I am still trying to get the perfect coil set up for myself, although I stay away from those awesome/crazy builds you see on youtube just because I don't have the patience. I have found that I like duel coils with a good amount of wraps (normally 8-9) and I push them at about 35-50 watts depending on my mood and juice. When I put the same build on a mech it just isn't going to push the coil the same way and I am generally not happy with it.

As far as how a regulated mod produces more volts than the battery is a little bit of voodoo to me, although I know that electrical people can explain it very easily. All I really know is that since my Segelei and IPV3 came in the old mechs are collecting a bit of dust.

Hope that somewhat helps. And I've been getting my kanthal from the same company for a while now because it's cheap and gets here quick. Can't really compare it to anything else.

im not sure, i usually run 0.5ohm@30watts which is 4.1volts and should be the around the same as your mech mod, at least at full charge. I never really had a mech mod to begin with but I can attest to vv/vw devices being much more convenient and easy, you just build whatever coil, slap that on then just mess with the power, instead of having to try to build a certain resistance coil. I mess around with coils building 0.5-2.0 ohm coils all the time and can always change the settings to vape it the way I want it. I've tried 3 types of kanthal all A1 Kanthal though, so im guessing they are all the same grade, since I see no difference.

With a VV/VW device you are not limited by the coil you build as in a mech mod, just limited to the power of your vv/vw device if you can power your certain coil the way you want it or not. 30-40watts has been more than enough for me, i can heat up 20gauge wire real quick or 32+gauge wire real quick.

I cant tell or go into specific details, but in a mech mod, there is no regulation and the battery power goes to your atomizer. In a VV/VW device there is a chip/board inbetween the battery and the atomizer that regulates the power, the 'magic' happens in that chip/board.

A VV or VW mod contains a "boost regulator" which takes the 3.7V (or so) from the battery, and uses that to generate higher voltages. So, for a given coil, it can put more power in than a fixed-voltage mod (assuming you're within the ohm range your VV/VW mod can handle).

You don't say what gauge wire you're using, but if it's heating up too slowly try a smaller-diameter wire (higher gauge number). (Ever notice how the word gauge looks like it's spelled wrong, no matter how you misspell it?) What's the resistance of your coils? (12 wraps seems like a lot, but that depends on the diameter of your coil and the gauge).

Make sure the contacts and threads in your nemesis are clean, and that everything is making a good connection.

I've only ordered kanthal from Temco, but all Kanthal A1 wire ought to be the same. It's not like there's really any incentive for someone to counterfeit it with inferior materials! Have you tried Nichrome80? (different than the nichrome-60 that is more common). Personally I like that better than the kanthal.

That really helps and I've really been looking at the sigeli so I believe I'm going to try the 100 watt one I don't believe I'll ever vape at 100 watts but it will be there if I need it haha.. Thanks
Go ahead and drop a few more bucks and get the 150W. It comes with a nice rubber-like cover that protects it and you may one day want 150W. They also did away with the funky adjustable center pin and have a spring loaded one in the 150. JMHO.

Got my sigeli 150 in Thursday ($93 shipped) and I have to say I'm in love. it was listed as version 2 ( im not sure about that but it is authentic) I saw a few videos about the firing button spinning and auto firing but mine will not spin or autofire so maybe that's what the v2 is but it's definitely a great apv for the price and I would recommend anyone looking to get into vw to give it a shot. The rubber sleeve that comes with it is definitely a plus since I will be carrying it with me wherever I go. Also the voltage and the ohm reader are dead on with what it shows. Only thing I would change is adding hundredths to the ohm reader but I can live without that.

Well I started with 28 gauge and now I'm using 26. It seems to be the perfect medium. But for some reason I want to think bigger coils = more flavor but With my mech mod they just wouldn't heat up fast enough when they are 26 kanthall 3/32nd drill bit and 12 wraps so I just stuck to the 6 or 7 wraps but now that I have the sigeli i tried bigger coils and I am still not getting the flavor I was hoping for. But let me stop for a second and explain. The only ejuice I can vape all day is mt baker vapor cotton candy ( don't really care for it at the carnival but it was sent as a free sample and I fell in love with) but it's 50/50 6mg nic. For some reason it tastes best in my atomic. But I have a vertex v2 ,a veritas (which flavor is good but airflow is too restrictive) ,the plum veil, and the magma which also airflow is too restrictive for my taste.. And I want so bad to use the vertex but I just can't match the flavor my atomic gives me. This is why I thought my coils needed to be bigger. But i did order some nichrome 80 and plan on trying it. Also thanks for your help and I hope all this makes since.. I guess I just need to try more juices because the cotton candy flavor is not a very strong flavor and this maybe my whole problem..
