I wish I understood the math, so I could make bigger batches, I just don't get it. The calculators are too damn complicated.

We can teach you the math. But meanwhile, do what Filthy-Beast said and mix up 20 ml by using 1ml (approx. 20 drops) of each of your 3 flavors. If it's too strong, add a little more unflavored; if it's not quite strong enough, add a couple of drops of each of your flavors. If you want to make bigger batches, just jump on here and ask us the formula. If you want to talk at length and try to understand all the math (it's easy, really) you can PM me. I'm a school teacher (retired) and I can get you there. :)

I understand basic math. It's the calculators that throw me off. They are usually for people mixing VG / PG and straight Nicotine. I've tried to find one that just has calculations for what I'm trying to do. I am using premix. So, there should be a calculator that says, how much you want to make, how much premix and how much flavoring you use. I think I found one, but how do you determine what you want for a flavor percent?

Doesn't that depend upon your taste preference. Different brand flavorings will have different % to obtain the same taste of a specific flavoring. That is true of different flavors within the same brand too. When making DIY juice I take someones recipe if that is what I am using and tweak it for my specific taste preference.

That's the calculator I use. For the % of flavoring I'd enter about 8 or 10 percent. All flavorings are a little different, and some of the super concentrated ones out these days are really strong. Maybe start with 5% and go up. Keep in mind that when you put in your percentage for flavoring, that means TOTAL flavoring, not each flavor. So if you're using three different flavors, you divide the amount it says for flavoring among all the different flavorings you're using. So if it calls for 1 ml (20 drops) of flavoring, you'd need to use about 6 or 7 drops of each of the flavors to end up with about 20 drops total. You probably know that, but that was something that kinda messed with my head at first.

I feel like folks with superior brains are lacking in OTHER areas and feel the need to flex their cerebral muscles. I'm not talking about on this forum, but life in general. People just love to complicate the sheet out of things. ^^^^ Thanks Jan, for explaining that simply, makes complete sense. Thanks for the bottles as well :)

You certainly can mix your own. I got 100 mg/L (10%) 100% VG for my base. It is cheaper in the long run and the 100 mg/L makes the math easy. I make my stuff in 250 ml volumes. Twenty-five ml nicotine and 225 ml VG and then if I want flavor, I will add about 12-13 ml of flavoring. The flavor lowers the nicotine some but I don't care that much so long as I am going down in nicotine content rather than up.

PS: I don't use drops, I use a syringe to measure flavors. Each dropper could be different but a small volume medical syringe (3 - 5 ml) is rather consistent - my way of doing it, to each their own. Become a mixologist, enjoy your own favorite flavors and save money.

James,

Check out Unflavored Nicotine Base - Nude Nicotine

You can get any mg in any ml in any pg/vg ratio you would need. Stick the bottle in the freezer, let thaw 1 hour before using and good to go. It's the cleanest I have ever tasted. :)

$22 for 500ML of nic, get a higher nic strength and then just add an equal amount of VG from walgreens and double it. I got 1000ML of nic sitting in my freezer that I paid 22 bucks for.

Cheryl75, you really, really should try DIYing. It makes vaping practically FREE. And it really is as simple or as complicated as you want to make it. I make it super simple, and my juice is as good (to me) as anything I've paid big bucks for.

If you're using drops you must make sure your bottles are all fitted with the same tip. I prefer the wider stubby tip. Really just stay away from using the narrow longer tip.

There are calculators that do drops and allow you to adjust the drop per ml ratio accordingly. 20drops per ml works for water. I remember reading on a thread that for VG it's actually 22drops per ml and PG 30drops per ml. I found that fairly accurate when I tested it. Alcohol based would be even more probably. I use 30 drops per ml as my ratio when making small bottles.

You can completely get away with drops if you use the same tip and same flavoring always. If you're using different flavorings of different viscosity then the only way to be accurate is a syringe.

I use "eliquid calculator"for android by svapo.it....has everything. Ohm calculator, Watt calculator...though I've never used either of those. Adjustable ratio, save recipes, and remembers your preferences....
