Hey all, so I have a setup recommended to me by a friend, which is the Innokin MVP 20w with a KangerTech EMOW atomizer hooked on. Works well, I've fiddled with it a little but not too much for fear of burning out the dual coils.

Since this is a VV/VW device, I've done my best to research before trying anything new. However, there is one thing that baffels me... my mod goes up to 20w, but vaping charts only recommend up to about 10 watts with my 1.5 ohm resistance. I suppose I haven't been looking in the right place, but how can I vape at my device's full potential, at 20 watts? I guess this is more of an atomizer basics question, but hopefully someone can help me out!

Secondly, I have another newbie question. I'm looking for maximum cloud potential, without messing with rebuildable mods and $300+ setups. I'm obviously not planning on actual cloud chasing, just advancing in my vaping potential. Anyone have any recommendations for websites or videos explaining setups towards this goal? Don't worry, I'm not demanding for you to tell me everything there is to know about sub-ohm vaping, and other seriously advanced subjects, I just want to start moving up to bigger clouds and more advanced options. Kind of an intermediary phase. I know that's a little confusing, I'll answer questions best as I can.

Thanks everyone!

P.S. Not sure if this is a simple question-appropriate thread, so feel free to move it to a more appropriate forum if needed!

Your vape chart it basically right. A 1.5 ohm single factory coil vapes nicely around 10W. This has nothing to do with potential but all with the amount of heat it produces with 10W at that resistance and it's capability of sucking up (wicking) liquid to vaperize to get rid of that heat. More power and your vape will taste burned and you'll get dry hits most likely.

If you want to get closer to the 20 W , most secure bet would be to find coilheads for your tank with a lower resistance, say 1 ohm instead of 1.5.
Note that more watts != a better vape necessarily. It will most likely produce more vapor but if you like the taste etc better is a personal thing.

For unlocking your vape 'potential', you're at the right site. You will have to put in the work though. This site is a treasure trove of information and people willing to help and explain but they do expect you to do your homework. Use the search function, read the blogs of some, read the stickies etc before asking. If you are still unsure or puzzled, by all means post a question.

Ok so it's just low-to-sub-ohm vaping allows for higher wattage, in a nutshell?

And I understand the second part completely, I'll be reading up as much as a busy college student can, it's just a lot of data crunching. I'll do my best, thanks a bunch!

Yes either lower ohms or dual/more coils allow you to push more power so watts.
Noting as mentioned by ou2mame, not going below 1 ohm overall as your device does not support it.

Alternatively you could build your own coils that allow for more wicking and thus heat dispensation at higher ohms.

Hi. if you REALLY want to unlock some potential I do HIGHLY suggest you reconsider rebuildable atomizers.you will experience a WORLD of difference with rebuildables, and you won't even have to Sub Ohm to do this. The FLAVOR difference is incredible between rebuildable and non rebuildable atomizers!! The flavor of a good rebuildable can be just as intense as eating a candy!! This is why most say " once you try a rebuildable, you won't want to go back". This is TRUE for most people. Believe it or not, it is not as difficult as you may imagine to rebuild. It will also SAVE you money not having to buy those pre-made coils. The coils last longer than pre made as well. one really great teaching tools is YouTube. It has videos and Step by Step instructions on how to build almost ANY rebuildable atomizer available. This is a very helpful tool when learning to rebuild. I understand it's not for everyone, and if it's absolutely not for you, that's okay too. But if your really looking to open a whole new world of flavor and clouds rebuilding is definitely the way to go.!! Just a thought you might want to consider. Best wishes. Hope this helps a bit. :)

There are lots of medium power mods around and plenty of tanks that work well with 0.5/1.0/1.3 ohm factory coils.

For example, I use the 0.5/1.2 subtanks on mini Cloupor/mini Sigelei or 30w iStick.

Can't go wrong really. I use both the version 1 and 2 RBA atomizer as well, usually coiled to about 0.6 - 0.7 ohms.

Obviously the EMOW is miles short of what you need for 15-25 watt vaping. I've run 0.5ohm coils as low as 6 watts and 1.2ohm coils at 20w. Lots of combinations are possible.
