Couple questions about the forum

I have a couple questions I wasn't able to find answers to on my own.

1) What exactly happens when I subscribe to a forum (as opposed to a thread)? Nothing shows up under Subscribed Threads and I don't see an equivalent Subscribed Forums.

2) Are there any "hotkeys" setup for the site? For instance, in Gmail typing Shift-3 deletes the current message. Specifically, I was hoping there might be a hotkey to mark the current forum as read. If this doesn't exist, consider this a suggestion.

I just tried subscribing to a forum.

It does show up in my Settings in a separate section below subscribed threads.

Ah, Settings. Wouldn't have thought to look there! I wonder why it's not under Subscriptions?

Good question. It doesn't show for me in subscriptions either.

Settings are easy enough to get to though. Top right of any page.

I am subscribed to several forums (as opposed to threads) I don't get email notices from the subscribed forums like I do threads. how do I fix that? I really want the email notices. example, deals and steals, specific vendor forums, the PIF coop forum. help! thanks
