Hey guys,

I got a joyetech E-Grip OLED 20W.

I just put in a new coil head into it to try a new e-juice that arrived. I noticed the first 5-8 vapes on it were very harsh...with a burning sensation in the back of my throat. After though a couple more vapes...the burning sensation was gone...is that normal with a new coil head?

Also...the E-grip has an Ohms reader which says 1.7

Should I be paying attention to this Ohms reading? I honestly don't even know what it means...

1: first 5-8 vapes were harsh with a burning sensation :
That is called a 'dry hit'.
It's like your first lesson in vaping; don't take a dry hit; it's like lighting the wrong end of a cigarette.
When you put in a new coil, the coil is dry; it needs some time for the liquid to soak it's way to the coil.

2: 1.7 ohms.
Should you pay attention to this ohms reading: Yes.
It it changes, take a mental note.

When you change coil, it will probably change.
If there is no coil, it might say 9.9 ohms or it might say 'no atomizer'.
If it says 0.0 or 'short', then you have a problem.
If it keeps jumping from 1.7 to 2+, or 3+ or more, it probably means you have corrosion/contactresistance on the centerpin, and you can try cleaning that with a cotton swab and alcohol.
If it keeps jumping from 1.7 down to 0.something (like 0.5) then you might have a damaged centerpin insulator causing partial shortcircuit- the 510 connection might be too tight; loosening it might clear the symptom temporarily.
