I'm trying to get a feel for what kind of life I should be expecting from my CR2 batteries - mine do not last long at all. I have 1 set of the unprotected UltraFire 800mah batts from Vapor Alley; 1 set of the protected 1000mah batts from Vapor Alley; and 1 set of protected LC 1000mah batts from MadVapes (these appear to be identical to the 1000mah batts from Vapor Alley). I'm vaping on the original Hex with an XL CE2 3.4ohm atty, using the 3ml syringe mod. All of the battery sets give me less than 2 hours life on what is supposedly a full charge. I'm using the Since CR2 charger, also from Vapor Alley. Is 2 hours or less normal for these batteries? I'm beginning to wonder whether I have charger issues. All the batts start out red on the charger and switch to green at some point (I haven't really paid attention to how long it takes). With the syringe mod, my batteries almost always go dead before I get through one tank of juice. I'm just trying to get a feel for what I should be expecting with these batts.

Hmmm, the batts are not "all dayers", but generally should last longer than that, unless you're a heavy vapor.
I CAN say those batts last me about 4-5 hours.

Maybe send that Since charger back ( I will credit you) and get the Jinglong?

Thanks Rick. Let me play around with this charger and see if I can determine the issue. It very well could be user error, as I've had some weird things happen. For example, last night a couple of the batteries stopped working after about an hour and a half. I took them out and put in a freshly-charged set. I set the "dead" ones aside, not on the charger, because my 3rd set was on the charger. Well, the "fresh" set went dead about an hour later. So, just as an experiment, I put the other set back in (the ones that I thought were dead which I had set aside) and they worked perfectly for about two more hours. Maybe I'm somehow tripping the protection circuit, which then resets after some period of inactivity. I don't really know how these protected batteries work, so it could just be a learning curve. I'm probably going to end up ordering that Ultrafire smart charger at some point, along with a 14500 batt.

Another weird thing happened with these batts today. The set I was using went completely dead after about an hour. I got ...... and went to Walmart for a $10 multimeter. One of the batts tested at full strenght. The other tested completely dead. No charge at all. I put the dead one (only) in the charger for five minutes, pulled it out and it put it back on the MM. Guess what? Full charge. Actually, it registered at about 3.5v. I think I somehow tripped the protection and it was reset when I put it back in the charger. Is this how these things are supposed to work? This was one of the LC 1000mah protected batts. I haven't put the pair back in my hex yet, as I'm at work (that whole taze thing still makes me hesitate . . . .). I'm going to be doing some testing on these things over the next few days and will post the results here.

Just wanted to follow up on this after doing some testing last night. What's below applies only to the two sets of protected batteries that I have (the unprotected ones seem to work fine). I'm 99% sure that firing the batteries with my vaping setup is tripping the protection in one battery (the one closest to the atty). The battery can then be reset by placing it in the charger (even for just a second or two). The basic scenario is this:

- Fully charged batteries placed in unit (charge tested via MM)

- Vapes great for a while (time varies), then suddenly stops working (stoppage is immediate)

- Batts removed and tested via MM. One batt (the one closest to the atty) shows no charge at all. The other still shows full (or close to full) charge.

- The "dead" batt is placed in the charger for 1-2 seconds, then immediately removed and tested again via MM - now MM shows full charge.

I did the same procedure several times. The only conclusion I can draw is what I stated above - somehow the protection is being tripped, and then reset when it goes back in the charger.

Edit: I did a little research regarding whether a protected battery might reset when placed back on a charger. Below is one web site that I found fairly quickly. If you look down at the bottom of the page, you will see some conclusions drawn, including "Overdischarge will disconnect at 2.5 volt, but will not reconnect again except with external voltage (i.e. a charger)." He's talking about 18650s, but I'm guessing the same might apply to these CR2s.
