really? mine arent protected?

The DX's cr2 batteries acts like protected but maybe they are not. I havent open one of them to see the protected sircuit but youfilltheblank opened one of them and he didnt saw the circuit.

DX says that they are protected. Also you will see the cut off voltage on battery's side. I dont know for sure.

Vinyl, what you have is a selectable charger. What DaMulta is referring to I think is a charger that senses battery condition and adjusts voltage accordingly.
DM, I would say, it may not work for a 3.0v battery because if the charger is for 3.7v it will continue to sense the lower voltage of the 3.0v battery and continue to charge until "boom".

The charger you have Vinylmason is the best one to have if you are using different batteries, just don't mix them up8-o
