How would you upgrade it to 60watts? is there a newer chip of the same size that would fit where the old one was? or are you talking about one of your complete makeovers where there isn't much left of the original when you're done?
pretty much a complete makeover. the only chip that fits where the old chip was is the new usb charging chip

it's actually a good spot for it there, I also put the fire button there so it triggers from the top like a regular grand, the new module and screen goes where the old fire button was. here's how I did it on the first vv woodie that I got from sterno, still buttoning this one up
yeah, not much left of the original I guess
onboard charging becomes a good thing at 50 and 60 watts because at these levels the battery sag under fire becomes very heavy and regular battery connections start showing there limitations. mechs have the same problem but there aren't computer chips monitoring them while firing to show it. the best way to really get the least amount of sag below the
threshold and get the longest usable battery life with a chip like this at 50 watts and more with a single 18650 is with heavy gauge wire and a directly soldered battery. then she'll work very good even at 60 watts, but then on board charging becomes absolutely necessary once the battery becomes permanently soldered in. not sure I'm going to do that yet, I'll see how it goes. so far I think I'm happy in the 35 watt range so I may not bother soldering the battery in.
this is probably very similar to what I'll do to the cracked one in this
thread. after this I think I'm pretty set with woodies. having 2 was ok, 3 was really nice, but 4 is def enough for a while I think
