Craft Beer and Vaping

Okay folks. I wanted to post this in the general e-juice section but I am a newb. All is well that ends well. I am a hardcore craft beer drinker and am super excited about how awesome some of my craft beer selections will taste with my new sniffer and taste buds. I am going on two weeks smoke free so I don't know that I have garnered all of the pluses of not being a smoker yet. Alas, I am curious what flavors some other craft beer drinking vapers like to enjoy. Maybe there are some out there who have certain pairings they like. i.e. a Witbier with an orange flavor or a Guinness with a coffer or cream flavor. I am stoked. I prefer Belgian beers. Right now Ommengang is my favorite brewery.

When it comes to craft beers i tend not to vape so i can enjoy the taste of the beer. When i drink the bigger company beers ill vape, for instance blue moon, ill vape on some orange and cream with a hint of vanilla ill make. Modelos ill make some lemon lime flavor and so on. Ill try to make something close to the beer so it doesn't disturb the flavor of the beer.

I am a huge craft beer snob plus I brew my own beer too :) I enjoy a nice IPA and a vape on my russian clone. Been brewing for years and had some of my Belgium blonde strong coming in at 9%. Just brewered over the weekend and the smell of everything is so much better since vaping.

Plus a nice vape, brewing, and having a home brew is like heaven

I too am a homebrewer. I am in the middle of upgrading to all grain. I am missing only a few components. Hopefully the all grain setup will be up and running with the month. Right now I am drinking a Wheat from Shiner and vaping a generic orange from my local vape shop. I feel like I don't have enough flavors to really experiment with pairings yet.

Coors light is my go to beer. I know it gets the "mine as well drink water" remarks but thats what my dad drank/drinks so it just makes sense that i drink it too haha. Plus my friends all call me Coors (hense my user name). I use to hate beer back in highschool but then i started acquiring a taste for it. Now i can drink a sam adams which i originally thought was disgusting. Some of my current favorites are Pumpkinhead and newcastle

Im still relatively new to vaping but like the sounds of these pairings. I saw some liqueur/cocktail flavored juices but they didnt really appeal to me except the Kahlua.

Coors Banquet and Coors light were my go to beers when I first started drinking. Then about four years ago I took over my uncle's restaurant and started doing the beer order. Since then I've acquired a pretty extensive beer palate. My preferred styles right now Ciders, American Strong Ales, Belgian Strong Ale, and super hoppy IPA's.

Friday was my first night vaping and drinking. Even though I had a latte flavor that I really didn't care for, it never overpowered the Lagunitas Brown Shugga we were drinking.

Good to know there are some craft beer drinkers around this site!

I prefer stouts, dark ales, and vape with a medium to heavy tobacco flavor ( pirates booty HHV)
Also prefer dark ales and stouts, but have been trying to avoid them so early in the quit-smoking stage (one month). Even with light beer I'm finding that I can't taste my vape even at highest voltage. It may be mostly mental so far, but while drinking I'm sucking my vape like a scuba diver needs his oxygen. I know my taste buds are still changing for the better so I'll ride it out and hope for the best!

I'm a beer dork and brewer as well. I'm excited to get into e-cigs and more juices to experiment with pairings as well.

The obvious one that I haven't tried but would suggest is wheat and citrus. As simple as Blue Moon and an orange ejuice.

Porters and Stouts I imagine would pair well with creamy ejuices, if there are any good ones. For me, a solid tobacco flavor would be an ideal pairing as well. Deep and rich beer, deep and rich juice!

I have found that IPAs on the more bitter end tend to deaden the flavor of some juices I have tried. I like bitter beer, so I try to have a heavy menthol infused juice or a strong tobacco juice with stuff in the bitter range of Ruination from Stone or Modus Operendai from SKA Brewing. Two of my go to easily accessible craft beer companies. SKA makes a good imperial stout and Stone and Independent Full Sail make porters and hefz and IPAs that are great. I like sweet or fruity juices with porters and imperial stouts.

I like Beer! I like Vapor! When both meet it is heaven! Your smell and taste will change some more. You will find that some things you may love now, you won't be able to stand and vice-versa. Sorry but this is a small price to pay for the switch. Most of the time it is for the good though! Thanks for the thread. A lot of good insight here!

Right on! One of my finest memories of vape/craft brew pairings was some 1 year old Deschutes Abyss with HHV tobaccos, such a delicious pairing. I think that year they used ancho chillies, cocoa nibs, and cinnamon stick so it was just an obscenely complex and delicious beer.

I've also paired Lost Coast's Rasputin stout with HHV's Gollum (or whatever they call it now) and it was a wonderful combo. I remember the gollum didn't go well with the Abyss, as I detect a slight earthy/musty flavor in the Gollum that went much better with the Rasputin

When I'm drinking belgian beers, usually quads or triples, I like to vape plum, papaya, fig, etc type juices to go well with the dark fruits of the beer. I like Tripel Karmeliet on rare occasion and oddly enough PLUID goes really well with it.

Bavarian Hefes are probably the thing I consume most, and lemon or sour citrus juice goes GREAT with 'em. It gives you that radler/shandy type flavor without watering down your beer!

the Lagunitas Brown Shugga we were drinking.

Some tasty stuff! Did you try their "Lagunitas sucks" I refused because I love Brown Shugga and was ...... they screwed it up and released that swill in it's place!

Their Gnarleywine is incredible too, especially aged. I had some 2 year old (I think) stuff at a local brewfest and it aged very very good, it tastes like Hop candy!
