Vaping and beer

I think these two things are very closely related. Someone on here (usually newbs) might say "recommend a juice for me". Which is basically impossible since you don't know what they prefer just like with beer. You might like IPAs but if I suggested you try a stout you would hate it, unless you have a wide spectrum of flavors that you enjoy.

Also just like beer you have macro companies that make mass amounts of juice for cheap but is also below average in taste, quality and vapor production. Pay more for the better, premium juice (or craft beer) and you get a better product.

Also these two things pair great together.

Interesting topic, DBZ. I am a diehard fan of IPA's, with Sierra Nevada Torpedo being my go-to brew. But I am also into porters and stouts. Basically, brews that are top-fermented, as opposed to bottom fermented (lagers, pilsners, etc.). I tend to go as hoppy as possible, and not too crazy about malt-heavy brews.

You are spot-on in that taste in beer is such a personal and objective thing.

IMHO, the same can be said for e-liquid. One vaper might love a particular juice, while another will loathe it. A buddy of mine got me to try some juice he found in a shop that he loved, and I didn't care for it.

Take the 555 from Mt. Baker Vapor (which I am lucky enough to live near). I know of vapers that love the stuff. For me, the complete opposite. On the other hand, my wife and I absolutely LOVE their Hawk Sauce, Spurburry, and Licorice. Again, it's all subjective.

And I agree that a good vape with a fine brew is a wicked combination!

I like Torpedo as well. I'd rather have the good ol' pale ale though. West coast IPAs are where it's at. Green flash, stone, firestone walker and Russian River are just a few of my favorite breweries.

Awesome choices. We also really enjoy the Stone IPA, and the Firestone Walker. We are also biased towards the West Coast microbrews. If you've never tried Lagunitas before, you might like their Lil' Sumpim' Sumpin', or even their regular IPA.

Being a gigging rock musician since the young age of 16 in 1982, I was exposed to all sorts of things, although I was too chicken to try most of it (thank Goodness, otherwise I might not even be here). One thing I learned was that I hated beer, but only because I had been offered things like Bud, Miller, Coors, etc. These are fine for those that like them, but they did not work for me. But in 1992, my cousin and I accidentally stumbled upon Pete's Wicked Ale, and I knew instantly that I was an ale drinker. This led to Guinness Stout, Bass Ale, Samuel Adams, and finally, Sierra Nevada.

My taste in juice was somewhat similar. All I would try in the beginning was tobacco flavors, since some of the other options sounded so whacked. Then I tried the Mt Baker Vapor Hawk Sauce, which I instantly liked, which then led me to the belief that I actually didn't prefer tobacco flavors at all. From there came Spurburry, and Licorice. Now I'll try just about any flavor.

have found my DIY RY4 satisfies me more than others when i am drinking (and i am HA HA ) but in a pinch i use Hagensens RY4 for its throat hit and tobacco taste to keep me off the really bad stuff. JMO

You see a lot of recommended beer & food pairing. I think it would be nice to see recommended beer & vape pairing.

Kind of interesting too because I said to my girlfriend earlier that if we ever won the lottery, I would like to open a Brew Pub/Vape Bar. It would be especially cool to make juices made specifically to accent the beer being brewed.

Im an ipa fan as well but i absolutely love Xingu South American Black Beer. That stuff is awesome and pairs well with everything! I highly recommend it.

I've only had a couple IPA's I've enjoyed but the ones I've enjoyed, I really enjoyed such as Bells Two Hearted Ale.

I find most IPA's to lack balance however. Overly hopped to hide their flaws and very little complexity.

I definitely wouldn't say IPAs are hoppy to hide their flaws. Also, IPAs can be complex. It just depends, just like any other beer.

IPAs do lack balance but that's kind of the point. East coast IPAs are a lot more balanced than others.

Two hearted is a great brew. One of my favorites.

If I'm in Tennessee, I drink Highlife, and vape a banana and vanilla juice.
In Croatia, it's Czech Budweiser, or any fine local beer with banana and vanilla juice.
