Yes, it's the sound of the liquid being vaporized -- perfectly normal. In fact I got so used to it with the smaller tanks, that with my kayfuns, which are much quieter, it seems odd not to hear it so much.

You can always change your top cap, brought the popping right back:)

Really? Where's a good place to get those? Don't say FT... if I order one, I'd like to get it the same month I order it, ;) and I've heard that some of the ones on FT might have some problems.

My favorite is my Kayfun builds with the right drip tip getting a nice backfire love love love when I hit one or these builds with the wicking they are amazing

I agree, they're by far my favorite vape, but I've found that when it's sitting thru the night, when I go to take my first hit on it in the morning, to hit the button a couple secs before I try to bring it to my mouth, or sometimes that "backfire" hits my tongue -- not very pleasant. ;) Do you use rayon? I'm completely convinced it's much better than organic cotton, so much easier to figure out the right amount, and they seem more or less immune to dry hits.

Or use twisted wire! My Kayfun has never crackled as much as when I use triple twisted 32 gauge. 8-9 wraps around a 5/64'' drill bit gives me around 1.2-1.3ohms of crackly vaping goodness!

and forgot to mention, don't use the factory drip tip, it's too restrictive and creates too much condensation, causing the juice spitting in the mouth and restricting the wonderful snap crackle pop

I took out the included drip tips as soon as I got them, they're just FUGLY, look like a baby-bottle nipple or something. :D I usually use just a straight acrylic, or sometimes one of my "vase" shaped ones. I really prefer the narrower ones, but you're right, they do cause a build-up of condensate I'm constantly having to swab out. The straight acrylic ("ribbon striped") I'm using right now is kind of a happy medium; it's not terrifically fat, but has a large enough bore that condensate isn't *too* much of a problem.

I generally prefer a bit higher resistance than the 1.2-1.3 you mentioned; the one I'm using right now is 1.8. The lower resistance ones tend to be just a little too hot for my liking, and the higher resistance helps me conserve battery life, so I usually stay somewhere between 1.5-2 ohms. My preferred build recently has been 8/9 wraps of 29ga around 7/64 -- the larger diameter is so much easier to thread, and a lot more forgiving in the dry-hit department, though since I've switched to rayon, dry hits are far less of an issue, but I still have to get a pretty fat chunk of rayon into it.

Thx
Andria
