Craving smoke... please help!

Hi, I posted a while ago asking for what I should buy, but I ended up spending a bit less because I didn't have enough for a kit at the time, what I got was a 510-compatible pass-thru, 5 mega 510 cartomizers for $20. I traded a cartomizer with my mother for a wide battery (is this the eGo/tGo?) and she also gave me some e-liquid a while back, so that was a good trade!

At first everything was all good but now maybe the cartomizer isn't delivering the throat hit anymore. I'm still using it because I just re-filled it and I don't want to be wasteful but it's just not the same as it was. I tried dripping into the atomizer end but still didn't help much. For some reason I need to feel a strong hit like when the cartomizer as new or like a regular cigarette would give.

Is it time to change to a new cartomizer? Also wondering how you get over the smoke cravings in the beginning?? I can't seem to shake the craving no matter how much I vape.

I hate those huge cartos.... Id get some boge 2.0.... I learned early, and the hard way, to always have a backup carto or anything really, and the boges are good and cheap, like eight dollars for a five pack, a single one usually lasting about a week. Hang in there, it takes time to find the right setup

Yes i think you should change your carto. As above rep, BOGE 510 LR would give you a good hit.

As for the cravings, when I first started vaping, I let myself have a few analogs a day,
when the cravings hit hard. When I was ready (took me a couple weeks, but everyone
is different), I tossed the analogs, and now vape exclusively. In the morning, my cravings
are strongest, so I will chain vape a few hits right in a row to get it started, then they die
back down, and I go back to normal vaping. If the craving hits hard, I take a couple good hits
again. I think it takes a little longer to get the nic in your system with vaping then it does with
cigs, so you have to counter it before it strikes too hard.

Low resistance will give you more heat. High nic juice works a little better. You are still going to have some craving because your body isn't just craving the nic, it's craving the ther 5,000 chemicals as well. After a while vaping is satifying in it's own way. Still it will neve be a cig.

Try a higher nic juice when the cravings hit hard, like many things it will take time to adjust so don't be hard on yourself, if you still have the odd cig here and there when it is really bad then that's ok, it will take time for you to tweak you set up and find what works for you and eventually you realise that the odd cig you were having you haven't had for a couple of days and you have no desire for it.

If you are vaping constantly with no relief then I would try a higher nic juice.

Unfortunately I just changed to a new carto, I filled it with the condom method from the mouth end, and then I tried to take a hit. I got a nice hit of cotton fiber or whatever it is. I then tried to drip into the atomizer end and it still didn't help. I guess I shouldn't be filling this way? I put a bunch of liquid in there and it's acting like it's not in there. Bleh.. I feel like an idiot.

Hi Adam,
Don't know what type of cartos your using. I recommend letting it stand for a while after filling. I leave mine for about 30 minutes if I do a complete refill. Stand them with battery end down, tip up. Mine are bottom coil.
Also with the condom method - do it slowly, giving time for the juice to be absorbed.
And blow through them from the tip afterward to clear out any juice in the air hole. just blow onto a tissue, then also give them a wipe.

Thanks. I will let them sit from now on. I should just stick with what the instructions told me, which was to slowly drip 20-30 drops into onto the cotton, then let sit for 30 minutes. I sat that new carto the way you said, I'll wait 30 minutes, but something tells me it's ruined, heh.

Don't limit yourself to 30 drops if the carto really needs more than that. Drops vary. When you think it's full, shake it down like a thermometer and top if off if it looks dry on top. Keep doing that till you're absolutely sure it won't take any more juice. Wait half an hour, then vape.

I never use the condom method because it never worked for me. I kept ruining cartos.

First of all,...Why are you still using old fashion / cotton filled stuffies?...(just a newbie here also, but ) I'm with you Adam and I feel like an idiot asking everyone about reccomemnds on "best Throat Hit" juice. Some of the info I got on that: PG or VG is not responcible for the T.H. (T.H.= Nicotine level)...but the PG does help so most are saying, people who know are saying: "You really won't feel enough of a T.H. difference to notice...PG is a big help with flavor?" (V.G.= Vapor)----ANYWAY,...that's some stuff I gathered,...so far. //// Try a clearomizer! -- I got the CE3 (make sure your threads are compatable) (I have a Volt 808 thread...so I use the "Phoenix" CE3 from SmokelessImage.com ....NICE!...but guzzles more juice than my Small Block 350! --- ALSO (from DIY...there is: "Flash Throat Hit Enhancer"...about $9 oz)...Actually, I dripped direct this stuff and felt hardly a T.H.?.....It almost seems it's to thin out the juice?...so more is easier cooked? I mean there is a higher throat hit (sorta) when I dripped it alone just that to see what it would do...(expecting to be blasted,...notta)....It does make for a bigger T.H. for sure (and not by menthol)... mess around with that,...pretty harsh -----PS 5pack of the CE3s run about $10

As far as I know CE3's are out of stock at SI and Gotvapes.

On refilling... I prefer to drip rather than the condom method. And I leave them to sit 30 mins or more. I went through a bit of trial and error my first go at refilling too.

Most likely the cravings will diminsh with time. Everyone is different but there will come a day when you smell a stinky and shake your head.
I would recommend a higher nic level juice. If you have an ego style battery, try a VIVI Nova or newer EGO CC T2 Clearo.
I have a friend at work that went to the T2 after trying carts and the T2 is getting them off the stinkys.

For a back up and in case the batteries fail, a Blu disposable from a Walgreens is good standby. The new ones are better. I carried one for a couple of months just in case.

Realize also PG is an irritant/ TH enhancer so you may be able to slightly adjust the TH by raising your PG ratio. Regarding Boge and Smok Tech cartos- lots of complaints about them right now as it seems they've changed the way they're built.

I can't wait for that to happen. I shouldn't even touch an analog anymore, because now they severely restrict my airways and make me feel sick. I'm only 27, but my grandma has been smoking all her life she's still kicking. I guess I didn't get her genes, lol.

I do menthol so that's all I have experience with. Had to buy the menthol burst from Volcano. I add it to my everyday juice when I need more TH.

Yup new carto and highe nick. Two years ago i started on 12mg and it didnt help me stop i went back to cigs 9 days ago i bouggt some 24mg and havnt had a cig since
