My bad since I was dry burning a LR 1.5 306 atomizer that metered at .5 ohms with my eGo-T 1000 battery, but it stopped working and had been constantly blinking for almost 20 hours now. I was afraid to leave it in the house overnight so I threw it out the window onto the lawn last night before bed. This morning I go fetch it so the lawn mower won't run over it and it's still blinking away.

I assume the mosfet is hosed, but is it in dangerous? It won't fire an atty, but could it melt down and release gases as it drains from the led blinking? Five clicks and putting it on the charger don't seem to reset it. Should I leave it outside until the recycling center opens? Long shot, but
is there any hope in reviving it? It is only 3 month old and occasionally used?

You got a big problem there.
So far i think there is no imediate danger but the problem is you could try to let it decharge by it self but it will take ages to do it because like you said, attys won't work on it.
So, the only thing that can decharge the battery is the LED that is blinking.
Since the problem, i think, is on the button or mosfet, you could try and disassemble the battery, replace the button and see if the problem is solved (since there is at least on store that i know of selling replacement buttons).

If anything of that doesn't work...well... strap the battery to a pole and you can go hunting for fireflies... :D

Still blinking at 48 hours but sometimes if I do the 5 times press or knock it against something it stops for a while and spontaneously gets going again. I guess it will take a while for 1000 mah to be used up on a tiny led. It spent another night on the lawn and it is off to the recycling center tomorrow with a pile of other batteries I need to dispose of safely. I hope it stops blinking before I go.

My concern was if the shut off is messed up it could over drain and cause a problem. So far no heat from it.

CCarolina, putting it on the charger didn't do anything. It keeps blinking and the charger light is green. I shorted it for sure.

Skeets, funny you should say that because it looks like a hyperactive firefly on the lawn from my second story window at night. I bring it in during the day because it has been too hot outside and I'd rather avoid an explosion or leak of anything nasty.

In the future I'm going to be more diligent about metering by attys.

I have one of these, though it's a VGO, not eGo. I knew the mosfet had gone bad, as it only stopped blinking when attached to a carto, or charger. It wouldn't fire and I didn't feel safe leaving on the charger. I put it outside two weeks ago. I don't know how long it continued to blink. At least 5 days, but now it's stopped and is going into recycle as soon as I can get a friend to take it for me, (I don't drive).

I hope it's safe to put in a recycle bin??????

Yeah, per Scottbee, anything under 1Ω will fry your (well, your eGo's) mosfet on contact. It is dead. RIP.

If it's still blinking, put it in a bucket of sand and, if possible, keep it outside... One never knows.

Natalia, I think all dead batteries should be taken to a special battery recycling center. At least here, in CA, curbside recycling doesn't accept dead batteries, electronics etc.

Yes, I'll definitely wait to go to a recycling center, never curbside. Can these be put in the battery bins like they have outside Home Depot and Best Buy? Thanks :)

Your battery itself is fine and not making connection to anything but the circuit causing the led to flash. It's the circuit from the switch to the connector that's shot. I've had this happen to a 510 battery and 2 eGo batt's.

If you were to replace the board with one from goodprophets, it would work again. Getting it apart intact is another story. lol.

Our famous Scottbee has also repaired one of these boards but thats not easily done.

I've moved on from my eGo-Ts to mostly the REOs now, so not willing to spend the time repairing it. I have 4 more tucked away in a drawer for when I feel like a cig/cigarette shaped PV.

It finally stopped blinking and went to the recycling center. Once I fried the MOSFET it seemed too unpredictable to risk keeping it around.

Thank you for all the suggestions.
