I work with a guy who doesn't know I have a pv, so every once in a...well often, I'll take a toot then turn around where they can see me and blow out my vapor. It always blows their mind, and they can't figure out where this odorless vapor is coming from.

Well this morning was my first time using the e-cig publically where anyone could see me using it...I was sitting in my car waiting to go inside to a doctors appointment.

When I first arrived and parked I noticed a lady sitting on the bench out in front of the building with a cigarette in her hand that was not lit. She kept hitting up every person that walked by her asking them "do you have a light?" Also, I could tell she kinda had a few screws lose "upstairs" if you get my drift. Anyways nobody had lights for this poor woman.

I remembered I had brought my e-cig with me and starting taking hits off it, well she immediately noticed the "smoke" and started walking over to my car and I was like oh .... she thinks this is a real cigarette lol. She comes up to me and asks me for a light and I told her it was an electronic cigarette. She kinda looked at me strange at first but then apologized and walked away. A few minutes later I rolled my window down and starting blowing the vapor out of the window, well this ...... her off and she started screaming at "I THOUGHT YOU TOLD ME THAT WAS NOT A REAL CIGARETTE ........LOOK AT ALL THAT SMOKE YOU ARE BLOWING OUT!" ROFL...I told her again that it was an electronic cigarette but she could not comprehend what I was saying to her...next thing out of her mouth was "WELL WHY DO I SEE IT LIGHT UP RED THEN .....?" I was laughing so hard I was almost falling out of the car...

Definitely a good first time encounter!

she missed out on an opportunity. most cars have a cigarette lighter built into the console. I would get a light from peoples cars all the time when i used analogs and didn't have a lighter. Now, off to see what resurected this thread.

A lot of cars nowadays aren't including the lighter, or even an ashtray... Some you can get them as an option. And apparently they're not "cigarette lighters", they are "accessory outlets"

Mine doesn't. It does have the plug where a lighter would go, but no lighter. It's covered with a plastic cover, and it's positioned low, under the dash, where you can't reach it while you are driving. No ashtray, either.

I've had similar experiences. People around the neighborhood will ask me for a cig or a light and when I tell them I don't smoke I end up hearing them curse under there breath or mumble something. It's always funny.
