Well, I am fairly new to vaping, but I happen to have access to a huge machine shop with just about everything you could ever want. Plus a fairly impressive electronics work shop. So basically I am looking for suggestions on what everyone here would like to see in a new mod. I want to try making some new and unique mods for myself and some friends, and possibly later to sell. So if you guys and gals can think of any suggestions or ideas i would really appreciate anything.:2cool:

I would like to see a simple robust mod built to be easily repaired/rebuilt by the consumer with a button type switch that is easily replaced without a soldering gun. If my mod breaks I really don't want to send it in for repair, design it so I can order the part drop it in and tighten down a couple of screws and I'll be a happy camper. I'd also like to see some more folks get into the rebuildable atty's the two I've seen are cool but I'm waiting for some more designs to make it to market.

I was also thinking about doing something special with the activation switch. Instead of a push button i was thinking about having two spots one either side that you would contact with your finger and thumb to complete the circuit. I would still have a main power on/off switch, but i thought it might be interesting.

The chances of creating a unique mod seem to be dwindling ;) The touch switch has been made by a number of modders here. Here's one from one of my favorite modders - http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/181976-1-aa-touch-modbox.html

With access to that type of equipment, I wouldn't concern myself about unique; I'd just go for AWESOME! :D

Just an idea...but there are many great mods on the market, but some are WAY WAY WAY overpriced, one mod in particular that is always sold out or on order is the GG, there are several models but if a SMART engineer was to make a similar device with an all mechanical switch...nothing to break....and price it afordably to us peasants they could literally be the next big thing to happen to the ecig market. The GG is not USA made and there is only one distributor in the USA and he is totally happy that he can charge outrageous prices for his device, because they sell as fast as he can get them....that give you any ideas? Another mod that cant be bought untill they make them and they are sold out the day they are put up for sale is the REO....model a mod after that mod and make another big splash.

I guess what Im trying to say overall is, Dont Try and Reinvent the Wheel...take a few of the best wheels make a couple improvements and charge reasonable prices....and become OUR HERO...LOL

PS: Tricky switches will ruin any chance you have of mainstream vapers becoming fans...look at the SaberTouch and get the idea...they dont work (for long)...mechanical switches are the switches most people want to see come out. Like the GG the Alpha The Bronze the Omega...

I would like to see a single battery mod preferably VV with a built in tank/Bud type container with a removable easily replaceable wick. It would have a direct connection to the battery, no 510,910 whatever connector. New wicks would cost around $5.00 or less and last a week or more. The tank would be app. the size of the battery and would also be replaceable. The battery would be either a 14500 or 18650 with the circuitry to enable a VV. It would also have a built in USB connector.

The firing button would be on the top user replaceable. You would vape through the top with an extension tube that would hold a 510 drip tip and you would be able to buy other tubes to use other size drip tips.

A mod like this would contain all of the technology currently available and be the last mod you would need to buy.
