Geez guys, if this keeps up, we'll need to have a GG MASH unit. :( Hope you both mend well.

And as for gravity Z, I'm not so sure it is my friend other than keeping me from floating around. That same force that kept my feet frimly on the ground for the first 40 years of my life has been slowly but inexorbly pulling me back into mother earth. I must admit it is better for us guys. If I was a lady I would have to spend some money on the most visible effects of gravity after 40...
Lol..

Me and gravity are not friends right now.

As with most injuries, there are unexpected thresholds. I disvoverd that trying to lift anything with my fingers facing my non-friend. Intially trying to pick up a 16oz bottle of water by simply grabbing it by the lid with my fingers and simply lifting upwards.

I believe this produced more adrenaline than my first solo skydive. One left me euphoric, the other with 16 oz of water on the floor, near hyper-ventilation, almost in tears, and lacking a need for nicotine.

Not being the sharpest apple in the drawer at times, as the saying goes, I managed to completely discount this experience while causally picking up my phone. From the counter-top. In the bathroom...

Of course now you must be thinking "it didn't". Landing gently on the carpeting, would hardly worth mentioning. No, it landed exactly in the one place where one does not want their phone while in a bathroom.

I sent email to our admin that my phone had suffered an incident which it my not survive, asking what I should do. Amazingly, it survived, but I just don't want it any more.

No, gravity and I have not had a good weekend.

OMG Z! I don't mean to laugh at your misfortune but the way you relayed that incident still has me laughing so hard my sides hurt!

And I tend to agree with you about the cell phone... Even with phomnes like the Moto Droid Razr that have a protective coating against moisture to protect them - In this case it isn't so much that it got wet as much as what or where the "wet" came from.

No worries. I tend to try and laugh at most anything, at least about myself. Keeps me from getting to uptight ;).

4 days into this I can take the brace off, and have full movement, albeit slow. All the colors are present (sans black and grey, a big plus), painting a picture of what happened. I'll forgo the details other than to say my middle finger appears to have bent in most unexpected ways, and probably won't be right for a few weeks.

It's easy to laugh since this was pretty close to being far worse. Inches in any direction and it would have been ugly.

And the phone died today. Given the circumstance, I'm ok with that.

But I can now use my GG right handed, with only minor discomfort. I call it physical therapy.

Hopefully an Ody rebuild tomorrow.

Just a quick update.. Totally off topic. If your looking for looking for amazing GG insight, please move on.

My ring finger is shades of green. And I'm pleased about that.

Had I been asked the question on Jeopardy "Your finger is green", my reply, as a question would have been a very succinct "WTF?". At this point, I'm now oddly looking forward to yellow.

Net damage: 2 metacarpal fractures. Not breaks, but enough to 'bend', resulting in a sort of traction on both fingers via something not unlike the rubber bands I have in my desk, but 100x the cost. Funny how that works.

So, like fall, all the vibrant colors are fading, only the colors are different. Hand brace stays on until there is no pain, and a personal regime of therapy starts shortly thereafter.

If I had the opportunity to do it all over again, I wouldn't.
