Hey guys,

So I got Crius and Evic VTC Mini today and I have some questions I want to ask. I used the premade coils that came with Crius and I got about 0.34ohm.

What I want to ask is what should I use for vaping like how much watts, volts and what kind of temperature stats.

Also, do you have any suggestions for clapton coil that could fit into Crius deck and also where to buy some khantal wire for it.

Thanks in advance.

Hello @Arvis and welcome to the forum. I am not familiar with that specific tank and not very experienced in temp control to answer the questions.

It would probably help to have your location in your profile to help refer you to suppliers, but www.fasttech.com (China) ships about anywhere and sells all types of wire. I have also used ebay and Amazon for build materials of wire and Koh Gen Do cotton.

Good luck in your journey... enjoy.

I also use the evic and love it!

Firat if all, familiarize yourself with ohms law.

Secondly, when I first started I learned that the bypass mode on the evic is a handy tool to find a good starting point(if you're NOT using nickel or SS coils). I would switch to the bypass mode, take note of the wattage, switch back to power mode, and adjust from there. I found the bypass mode always displayed a very conservative setting and was on the colder side of things so I always had to raise the power when switching back to power. Plus I use it to check my math when figuring out wattage.

I am of no help if you're using SS or nickel coils. I'm not a big fan of temp stuff. I'm not saying it's not great... it's just not for me.

Hello and welcome to the forum @Arvis. Glad to have you here!:)

Please update your profile to include your location. Is your coil made with wire for temperature control (i.e Nickel/Titanium)?

If it's made with Kanthal it can only be run in power mode. The rule of thumb for EVERY vape device you'll ever own is the same (when running in power or wattage/voltage mode). Turn your voltage/wattage down, take a few hits, bump it up, couple more hits. Repeat until you find your "sweet spot". If it starts to taste funny, gets too hot or tastes burnt, back it down. Different flavors will have different sweet spots so you just have to experiment.

I'm kinda new to this kind of stuff so thanks for your help.

I'm not sure what kind of wire I'm using. The coils that I'm using was already in the package so I'm guessing it is kanthol since that's what is said on the package. I'm playing for a while now with evic to find that "sweet spot". Asked my friends to make me clapton coils, so I will see after that how it goes.

Thanks again for your help. I appreciate it.

If the Crius came bundled with some pre-made coils, it's a 99% certainty they are Kanthal.

I can't be bothered with Twisted or Clapton wire. You can buy all sorts of wire from Fasttech or domestic market vendors.

You can even buy 'premade' coils which are often the same as those you see 5 for $9.99 on ebay. The fact you can buy 200 for $9.99 doesn't seem to matter to some people.
