Hey guys,

I tried to heat steep a 10ml bottle of DIY RY4 Double single flavour in my crock pot/slow cooker. I filled the pot with just enough water to cover my e-liquid and set the temperature to 150 (maximum is 220), but when I came back, all the water evaporated in the slow cooker and the pipette had ballooned up in size! There's even a crack along the side of the rubber cap.

The liquid changed color from clear to a lot darker, but I'm assuming it's been boiled! It smelled really good and caramel-ish, but I decided to flush it. I'm not sure if it's safe to vape after being boiled accidentally. I'm guessing that the slow cooker temperature control is obviously completely inaccurate.

Did I do the right thing to flush it?

Fail!

darn, shame... I probably would of vaped it :p (but I'm a poor, poor... pooor.. 25yo lol) but, it was probably a good idea for you to have gotten rid of it, in this case... The liquid most-likely turned brown due to it having steeped, not due-to plastic leeching into it. E-Liquid does turn dark in coloration when steeped, especially when steeped for a very long time. (i've vaped 2+ year old juice, and it does get very dark!) you probably even concentrated the nicotine into a smaller concentration of PG/VG suspension. So, there's no telling what MG-level you'd be vaping, if it evaporated OUT of the bottle. I wouldn't steep with the cap off of the bottle, keep the liquid IN. (just my opinion - I heat-steep in the sink, with hot water, and the drain plugged. a half-day of floating in hot water seems to do it, for me) Good luck with your future steeping endeavors, and enjoy your vaping journey.

Thanks for the feedback and advice guys.

I'm going to start over, and I think I'm going to go for a shake, a 10 hour breathe with the cap off, then a boring 2 day steep in a dark cupboard with the cap on. After that, a 20 minute warm water bath and another 24 hours steep in the cupboard.

Hope something noticeable happens!

only heat I give mine is 8 seconds in a microwave to warm the VG so I can shake the .... outta it, then they sit in my closet a couple weeks before vaping them. Crocpot has killed to many bottles of juice for me so i dont touch it anymore. I gave up on shortcuts and just stick with tried and true TIME.
