Hello All...

Last night I was stepping some juices using the crock pot, by mistake I let the temperature rise up to 180F for about 30 min.

Do you know if this can damage the liquids? as these are new mixes hard to compare vs previous results

Thank for your advice

I don't think you'll have any issues. Lower it to 150F and continue steeping.

Steeping at too high a temp will degrade the Nicotine? Is nicotine that unstable?

I just bought a new crockpot from the Goodwill. This thing was brand NEW! It was $5 still in original packaging! I was so excited, it was one of those little one's that more of a soup warmer than an actual "Pot roasting" Crock pot and when I used it the other night I realized there is No high/low setting! Its only On or Off!! i need to pull out my temp gauge and see how high the temp gets. hopefully it'll peak at about 140 - 150 but that is the "tempature danger zone" in the Culinary world, so I don't know!

nic can evaporate from solution above 180F... when "cooking" juice at a hi temp, the nic can evaporate off leaving less than expected... I did a test with some old juice I didnt care for... I nuked it for 60 seconds and it removed all the nic and melted the bottle... VG boils at around 300F... so be very careful when nuking juice...it gets extremely hot. As in treat it like hot oil hot.... ( never should go that hi anyway, it ruins the juice)
