I thought there was a section for travel with ecigs but i couldnt find it. We're driving to the US and just curious about border crossing etc or any tips? Do i even need to hide my gear? Anything?

I'd be really curious on this too... I imagine it may cause trouble if the border guard decides he doesn't like the look of your ecig. I've had some really strange border crossings in the past.

You'll be fine.

Nicotine is a considered a prescription drug (schedule F) in Canada, and residents of a foreign country are allowed to bring a "90-day supply" when visiting Canada. There are no restrictions on hardware. Well, there are... they can't make health claims... but that's irrelevant.

Guidance Document on the Import Requirements for Health Products under the Food and Drugs Act and its Regulations (GUI-0084) [Health Canada, 2010] (reference Figure 2. under section 6)

Even though it's okay to bring our stuff back and forth across the border, I still tuck mine away when narrowing the check point. I'm not doing anything wrong but I'd rather save the potential aggravation. To the ill-informed, my full sized Provari with attached DCT looks anything but like a tobacco alternative. I believe that everybody should know what these devices are and hiding them isn't the way to gain general awareness but there's a time and a place and the border check point isn't one of them IMO.

Reminds me of these guys on Youtube who post videos of themselves having confrontations with the police. They happen to possess an "OPEN CARRY" permit for their guns so what do they do? They carry them down random busy roads just because they can. Of course they are stopped by the police who are just checking that there is no threat, and then these guys get all righteous about police abuse and how they shouldn't have been stopped in the first place. They record it all and title it "Police Harassment". Meanwhile, they were just hoping to get stopped so they could prove their point.

Anyway, just my thoughts. As long as you're not transporting mass quantities you're okay.

My car got searched a few weeks back crossing back into Canada. I don't hide anything or tuck anything away. I had two devices sitting on the front seat on top of a bunch of burrito wrappers and take out bags. They merely asked why I needed two. In case one runs out of battery I said. They were surprised to hear that it ran on batteries which was shocking to me due to the fact of them being called "electronic" cigarettes. Genius. They continued searching every nook and cranny of my car and sent me on my way. It was a hassle. But to be fair I was wearing a hoodie with a pentagram and goat head on it, and was in the USA for five days by myself to go to a concert. I prob would have searched me too.

Not sure how different it is crossing the border via car vs airplane, but I finally took my .... back to New York after two very long years in Canada, and I did not have any problems. I had one PV in my purse, and a bunch of batteries, chargers, and some syringes in my carry on, the rest of my stuff was in my checked luggage (which included a 500ml bottle of nic juice). I would think you should be just fine ... happy travels.

** side note ** I haven't been in the Canada forum for a long time, so shout out to all my old Canadians peeps ... I've missed you!
