Two of my front teeth are crowded and since I started vaping they've been bothering me. They're pushing up against each other and giving me some pain, but my main concern is that they may wear each other away. They used to bother me every few months but since I started vaping it's all the time.

I've tried pulling in with my lungs and tried with my mouth. I've tried sucking very gently but all I get is a tiny bit a vapor and a bunch of hot air that makes me cough. I received some LR cartos in the mail on Saturday and it has improved since then, but not enough.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it an adjustment period and my body will adapt and get back to normal or is this how it goes? Starting to seem to me that I might have to go back to analogs but I'm going to try and get it another week to see if my mouth gets used to it. :(

Well, I think some people start to get bleeding gums when they quit smoking.
I think it has something to do with improved circulation.

So maybe the increased blood flow is causing you to feel this more than you normally would?
If that really is the case, I think it should go away eventually, but maybe others have some better information.

I noticed some minor teeth ache and headaches after quitting and still occasionally get them depending on how much I vape. I'm pretty sure it's clamping your teeth around the tip while you draw in. I notice the problem isn't there in mornings but does intensify as the day goes on. Nothing that really bothers me, but it is noticeable to me. How much do you vape on a normal day and when you draw in, do you clamp down gentle or firm?

I had tooth pain after quitting smoking. It was due to increased circulation to the gums causing increased sensitivity. It's a good thing to happen. It just doesn't feel too good. Good news is it does go away.

Read through the health threads here. There are several threads on this topic that may be helpful to you.

Are you drinking plenty of water? Even if you don't feel thirsty you'll need to drink more than usual. Getting dehydrated can sneak up on you. We have to create the vapor we're blowing out with our water supply. If your gums are dehydrated they shrink a bit pulling away from your teeth and here comes trouble. Hope it's as simple as that and you're better soon. :)

What ecig are you using? Suggestions with no clue what you already have: Get an ecig with decent size hits. Use MANUAL batteries so you don't have to suck hard on it. If you are using a model with stuffing type cartomizers try a plastic drip tip as a smaller mouthpiece on the cartos - that way the vapor will exit a larger airhole onto your tongue, not in a concentrated stream onto your teeth. Use decent eliquid that isn't all PG. Nicotine can cause bleeding gums. PG does little to buffer the irritation of nicotine. In cartos I use juices with 20% VG.

How high is the nicotine in your juice? If you are using extremely high levels, consider a better ecig with bigger hits so maybe you can cut the nicotine level. Fat battery models can use hotter LR cartos and attys to enhance hit.

I think Boodle has it right with the dehydration and receding gums. I have noticed two of my molars hurt when I am dehydrated. However I also think it has to do with the amount of resistance you get when vaping. I notice my teeth hurt more often when I am using cartomizers as opposed to tanks on low resistance Ego T atomizers because I don't have to draw as hard. Don't give up on vaping, it's so much better for you than smoking analogs! Good luck!

About the front teeth hurting. Sounds kind of dumb to say but I always had a habit of biting down a bit on the filters of my analogs. Anyway I was doing that same thing with my ecig and it was causing two of my teeth to hurt. Chompimg down on the metal cart as opposed to the soft filter was none to bright on my behalf lol but once i realized it and stopped doing it the teeth pain went away. You may be doing that and not even realize it.

I'm using this thing eGo Carto Kit With Carrying Case which I think is a fat bat and it is a manual with plastic drip tips. Most of my niquid is 80% VG and 12 to 18 ml nic. Also, I'm not using the cone, it seemed to make it harder to get a hit.

And I am keeping up with my water.

Are there PVs out there that are easier to hit?

Thank you all for your replies.

Not using so much VG will make it a lot easier to drag cartos IMO

I use Boge cartomizers with a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece only (nice big airhole) and I use juices with 20% or less VG to get nice easy draws out of a carto for a week or more. I also try to find clear light juices because darker juices often leave flavoring sediment. Both flavoring sediment and VG and clog the carto stuffing and make it much harder for ait to flavor through the stuffing. (Flavoring sediment would also clog my attys when I used attys) I use the standard resistance Boge cartos but many like the Boge LR ones that use battery charge faster and give hotter hits. (I use standard because I also move them to my slim 510's and LR cartos are not for slim batteries)

Also, press in the manual button 1-2 seconds before the start of your drag so vapor is already made when you start dragging. And you can let the button up slightly before the end of your drag if you want.

If you want to use atomizers, you can try thinning your thick juices with a bit of distilled water or edible pure grain alcohol. It might wick faster and vaporize faster then.

I never new about gums bleeding after quitting. I quit on July fourth 2011 and have had some bleeding in the gums, no pain though. I'm glad I stumbled across this thread, I was worried I might have gingivitis or some other kind of icky bleeding gum death disease. If it starts back up again I'll shell out the clams and go see a dentist. OP, you might want to go see a dentist if the pain persists for more than a week or so.

Best of luck!
