Crown leaking through the top

I'll assume you're using a drop in coil since you said it's your first day using it.

I never close the afc to fill. My 3 Crowns don't leak top filling with the afc open. YMMV
Juice out the top of a new tank means it drizzled down the air tube while you filled it or it's getting past an o-ring or the coil isn't screwed down tight or is cross threaded so it's jammed and just feels like it's tight.

One of mine was leaky the first time I used it. One of the o-rings was twisted.
I straightened it out and it stopped leaking.

The crown was my go to tank before I got the Rafale and mine only ever leaked once when i filled from the top and it was because I left my air flow open by mistake when filling, having the airflow closed when filling should stop the leaking, at least it did for me :)
Yeah apparently that was the reason. I fill it again with the airflow closed and now it is leak free
