Crystal Liquid sampler from electronic-cigz.com
I love the touch of class from glass bottles with eyedropper caps. From the delicate clink of the dropper to the alchemist-precise dripping, these bottles are the maître d’s in a world of plastic busboys.

There they are, the VG cohort in blue, while PG steps it up in bold green.
These juices were purchased by me for the purpose of this review. Okay, that’s BS. These juices were purchased so I can vape until the fog’s thick enough to sustain tropical fish. Heck, I’ve already got the Fluvol.
In the spirit of covering all bases, I paid Sally Struthers to sit down in the middle of Wrigley Field. After that, I vaped all these juices at 3.2v, 3.7v & 6v on 510 atties, 3.2v & 3.7v on 510 LRs (low resistance) and 3.2v & 3.7v on 801 atties.
First up are the VGs, each 24mg, and for each the throat hit on 510s is a 2 out of 5, where 1 is zilch and 5 is me trying to dry swallow a deck sander. The TH is very smooth, almost too smooth. More than once I’ve vaped myself into a buzz because there’s little or no bite reminding me that I’m sucking back a lot of nicotine. Only at 6v does the TH climb to 3.
Vapour, relative to VG mixes, is 5 out of 5. If you like pretending that you’re a dragon, this stuff’ll have hobbits stealing your gold in no time. On 510s it’s fogtastic. On 801 atties, however, I found the vapour too cool and wet…almost slimy.
Flavour is mostly consistent across all atties and voltages, but knock a half-point off each score at 6v, because the taste falls victim to a bit of burn.
Blueberry Dreamz: FL=3.5. I don’t know what a blueberry would dream about, but apparently there’s a lot of somnambulant imaging going on because some days it seems like every other juice is named something-dreams. This particular dream is a good one. Definite blueberry flavour, tasty without being overwhelming. Not an all-day vape for me, but I do find myself dripping this a few times a night.
Gourmet Coffee: FL=see below. This must be from a shy gourmet. Every few draws I get a great taste of dark roast, but most of the time there’s just enough flavour to make me want more. I like this juice, but I don’t crave it. When the flavour actually hits, it’s a 4, but the overall score is 2.5 because there’s not enough cowbell.
Waffle Crave: FL=3. I love maple syrup. Heck, us Canadians are practically baptized in the stuff, but I’m still disappointed when a juice calls itself waffles or French toast when it only tastes of maple syrup. Fortunately, this stuff is not in that category. Maple is dominant, with a touch of waffle. For me it needs more waffle to score higher than 3, but still, it's a nice Sunday morning breakfast vape.
Watermelon Wonder: FL=2.5. It doesn’t taste like natural watermelon. It tastes more like somebody took a piece of watermelon Hubba Bubba, dipped it in corn syrup, and then rolled it in sugar. If I were a Pixie-Stick-addicted eight-year-old, this stuff would rock my world, but since I’m far too old for Lego, or believing that Justin Bieber has any artistic merit, for me it’s too much sugar. Less sweet and more melon, and this could have been an all-day vape.
And this brings us to the lone PG of the sampler, Havana Dream,16mg.
TH is a 2.5 at 3.2v & 3.7v, and 3.5 at 6v—surprisingly smooth for an all-PG juice.
Vapour, relative to pure PG, is a 5. I can’t say enough about the vapour production of Crystal Liquids.
Havana Dream: FL=5. There’s that dream again, and in this case, it’s a dream of having my taste buds back. Ironically this juice scores highest on the taste scale, but it’s my least favourite of the five juices. It’s too much cigar. Way too much cigar. There’s so much cigar in this stuff that one puff is worth an entire week at Bill-Clinton-Appreciation-Training Camp. If you really, really love cigars, then this juice could be your Mecca, but otherwise, be prepared to dilute it by as much as 30% before it doesn’t boot your palate down one flight set of steps and up another. It’s also an atty-killer, requiring multiple vodka rinses and dry burns to get the taste out.
So thumbs up to Blueberry Dreamz and Waffle Crave, thumbs sideways for Gourmet Coffee and Havana Dream, and thumbs marginally down to Watermelon Wonder. Watermelon Wonder is, like almost any movie starring Vin Diesel, one of those things that could have been.
