Hey everyone!

I've been vaping for a couple of months now and have gone from Volt Cigalikes, to a Sigelei #20, to an SVD. Presently I'm back on my Sig #20 as I figured out what this low rez mech vaping thing was about. Well, this got me thinking about feeders... Boy was that a mistake.

Now I want a Reo! I'm thinking about saving up for a Reo Grand in a couple of months with a Reomizer 2.0. But I have a few questions!

How does this squonking thing work? I understand you squeeze the bottle to push some juice into the head but (with the Reomizer specifically) what are the chances of flooding and leaking? I'm kind of understanding that a certain amount of juice will return to the bottle if one over-squonks? What is the deal with the catch cup? Blind Squonking?

Also I was looking at the list of compatible RBA's, as rebuilding is very enjoyable for me. Are all of these RBAs on the list ready to go out of the box for bottom feed? Is are side air holes preferred to bottom air holes?

And lastly - are there any other "good to know" items that I should be aware of before dropping the cash on one of these pretty mods?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm super curious! :)

Welcome to Reoville! Feel free to ask as many questions as you like. Most of your questions are somewhere in this forum, but we can help you too.

Check out this thread:

The RM2 from Reosmods is the ultimate RBA for a REO. It is modded to work on the REO and does it well!

Blind squonking is done usually with standard atomizers or cartomizers. With the RBA's it really does not work as well. You will have to get use to how the RBA you are using feeds juice and how much to squonk. The RM2 seldom over feeds. It is rare to find juice in the drip well.

When ordering you might want a extra spring if you are getting a mechanical REO. They are handy to have around. Also a button top.

If you are looking at the VV Grand no button topper needed.

The mechanical REO's work well with the RM2 at lower ohms. With the VV Grand you can tailor your vape to your juice by turning a wheel.

You can't go wrong with a REO. Built to last and vape like a dream!

The RM2 is an easy build. You can do a fancy microcoil or a simple 4 wrap on a silica wick -- perfect vape every time. In my experience, the RM2 just doesn't flood. Squonking is no big deal -- you'll get the hang of it very quickly. Additionally, if you drop your REO on cement (which I've done), pick it up and continue vaping. Go for it -- best investment you'll make. :)

If you like Rebuilding, RM2 has a nice deck to build on with posts at the edges as opposed to one in the center (that annoy me).

There is a bit of a learning curve with squonking, but once you get a bottom feeder, its pretty much a 10 minute trial and error segment within the hour you first receive your mod. Leaking only happens if you really squonk the crap out of it.

Other RBAs that work with a reo is stickied on this forum at the top.

Good to know items:
1. Micro coil once, and you'll hardly want to go back to "standard coils"
2. You kind of have to have an All Day Vape flavor you like or bottom feeders are just not for you (IMHO)
3. Reoville is a friendly place where we vape and cook on our mods. :p

Hmm. This is a concern as I do like to swap flavors around. If I was switching flavors occasionally, maybe once or twice a day, would it still be viable? I'm assuming I could just suck the old juice out of the bottle, clean up the bottle/tubing/RM2/coil, and load up with a new flavor?

You can buy a few extra bottles with tops from Rob. Occasionally I'll swap out a flavor. I don't go through the hassle of cleaning everything out. Add a drop or two of the new flavor to the wick and start vaping.

Yep. It is simple. Pick up a few extra bottles. Just swap out the bottle. You can take a syringe of water and shoot it in the tubing and it will come out the connector. Wipe the connector and you are set.

I don't even bother with the cleaning. I just pull out the bottle and slap on another. The flavor of the first is present for a few vapes then it is gone.

Excellent! Thanks for all the replies so far! Time to start saving and then hope I don't catch too much crap from the Wife for dropping that kind of money on a mod*! She spends it on shoes, so I can probably get away with it.

* - As a disclaimer I've never smoked (except socialy) and only got into vaping 0mg as a way to help lose weight by reducing my desire for candy and snacks. So far so good, except I'm addicted to vaping! Absolutely love sitting on the couch at night tooting away on a sweet flavor and relaxing, or putsing around with some coil builds on an RBA. :D

many of us discover that shortly after buying our first Reo, the swapping flavors problem mystically resolves itself somehow. it's like magic!

Haha, well played dwallen!

I see they are unavailable on reosmods right now, but what are the reducer tubes about?

Reducer tubes are inserted into the bottom of the tubing and they reduce the flow of juice. Used mostly for high PG, thin juices or if you live in a high heat area.

New REO's come with a reducer tube! It will be in the bag and it is very small!

If you have compatible juices you can drip a different flavor for a while and then go back to squonking what's in the bottle. Some juices don't play we'll with others though, be mindful of them before committing your Reo to them.

If you don't mind, could you talk more about the losing weight aspect of your vaping? I,ve had a couple of coworkers ask me about it for their non-smoking wives. I kind of have mixed feelings about it, on paper it seems like a good idea that would work. On the other hand I hadn't really heard of anybody who'd successfully done it. I was torn between unknown risks versus unknown gains. I'm all ears for whatever you have to say about the subject.

I got my first REO (VV Grand w/ RM2) a few weeks ago and to be honest, I did not like it at all. After about a week, I was in love. It does take a little getting use to, but once you do, there is nothing else like it. Both of my Provari's are gathering dust now, and I'm getting ready to but anothe REO.

texasguy4, so glad to see you're still loving your REO.

I can try and answer this because i lost a lot of weight since starting vaping. As for non smokers trying it, the trick is not to inhale at least imo because i don't inhale except to blow it out my nose once in a while. It is the taste buds becoming satisfied with flavor. I think it fools the buds into thinking you ate something hahaha maybe because you drink a lot to stay hydrated?

I use unflavored nic now but it does have a sweet flavor of its own.
