As the title states, i'm currently vaping on what i would consider, the basics of vape. Bolt with 6ml tank and 1.7 xl cartos.

simple, ghetto, gets the job done. :)

After helping many people convert from analog to vaping though... i need (and deserve lol) a classier mod. so, as soon as i can, i'm getting a 69 mod by atmomixani or a precise ELA. But should i simple upgrade to a better looking stainless steel 6ml DCT? i've considered a RBA...but i'm not sure i'm ready for something like that (and i don't know about the whole "tilting" thing).

what are you're thoughts? what are some good options i should consider?

RBAs are fun but not for traveling out and about. I'd recommend a Provari with a Protank but the ELA is surely a nice one.

BTW...nice P-38...and is that a Mustang I see lurking in the background? Do you fly on-line?

i use to. air warrior 2. now...i just love ww2 aircraft :D those are all armor collection diecast. i have that p38...plus a p-51, p-40, spitfire, me109, bf190, p-47, zero, and a f4u.

but on topic...

is the protank a step up from a carto tank?

Bit of a WW2 aviation buff myself, specifically the PTO. I fly mostly IL-2 and Rise of Flight. Lot of the old IL-2 squadrons are hanging around Rise of Flight mostly while we wait for the Battle of Stalingrad to be released. Spent a year in Okinawa and could kick myself for not exploring the history more but the WW2 bug hadn't bitten yet.

As for Protank vs. carto tank it's hard to say as they're different creatures. I can say, however, that since I've started using the Protank my tanks haven't had much use (although I still think they're great).

The Protank doesn't hold as much as a large tank so you're filling it more often but they're very easy to fill. I think the flavor is a smidgeon better in the Protank but that could be just me. The Protank uses a bottom coil so you're less likely to get a dry hit but they also flood easier. The coils are rebuildable so that's a plus but it's more time consuming than just changing a carto. I think the coils last longer on the Protank also but this is juice dependent and it's not a large margin.

One of the big pluses of the Protank over tanks is that it's so easy to change juices on the fly without having to burn through the left over juice. I used to carry a ton of tanks just to have a good variety but don't need too as much with the Protank (although I still bought five of them...).

I have been using my provari with a boge f16, i have tried other tanks and i have had nothing but trouble......my advice is if you are getting a good vape stick with what you have. that is not the fun answer, but i was so angry at my AGR leaking tank i almost wanted to smoke. NOw i ordere 3 more boges, 20 replacement cartos and now it is all about the juices.
