I want to share a little mod I've did that turned out pretty nice to my 510 PCC. I still use the Lipton pyramid teabag filling for my carts, and it works perfectly, problem is even if my carts last twice as long now its still not enough for a whole days vaping. I want to get up in the morning and stuff my PCC in my pockets and be done with it. I hate how e-cigs are more time comsuming than tabacco.
So here I was, having a beer and thinking about how it was anoying to carry my 3ml bottle of e-liquid around in my pocket to really be set for a 16-18 hour strech away from home. I was always kind of worried the thing would spill or pop while working or worst that I'de loose it. Then suddently, the MacGuyver theme song sprung into my head and I wipped out my dremel tool and started cutting away.
I figured I'de only need room for my atty & cart assembled and my bottle of e-liquid to go about my day so I've decided to just chop away a big block (atty and both cart holes) and only leave the battery hole there. Everything went fine, mind you I really wasn't comftable digging so darn close to the battery, and I got away pretty easy with this. Sanded everything down and removed any leftover clippings and everything fitted just fine inside the case. It was kinda loose in there and I didn't like it. Thinking some more I decided to use the fake velvet (<- not sure if that's the word??) presentation stand that my m401 came attached in the box with. I cut and glued my way to perfection padding every visible part inside the PCC. Turned out great!
I padded all of the inside with the plain material, then I used the cushon cartboard type thingny (I french and I'm trying really...) and made a box type of rest to fit the atty and bottle into. It doesn't fit snug but its close. Nothing moves around in there.
Also, not sure if you can notice, but there is a groove cut along the battery compartement and velvet along it. Its there for a reason lol. I have this problem where I need to put a peice of foam on the top part of the PCC to push the battery a little deeper in the case to make good contact. Well by cutting that groove and adding 2 layers of padding in front, when I close the casing I squeeze the battery compartment making it a thin bit smaller. In theory this would make my battery fit real snug in there and it does work but...the right hand screw had to be poped off with a flathead screwdriver so now I can't close it back up on that side. The screw was kinda "cut" in place or flatened there like a rivet. So I'll need to find a simmilar screw somewhere...but it does work if I press it close to test
! Fits nice and doesn't even need the lid to hold it in place.
Overall, even if I can't find a screw I'm very please with the results. I might even just solder it in place if I can't come up with a better idea. I've also taken out my soldering gun but I changed my mind, drinking and hot iron don't mix. I wanted to cut a small groove on top of that pcb and stick an LED pointing upwards so I'de have light when I open my case. I only have 5v LEDs lying around and can't find my multimeter. They wouldn't light up even if I took power straight from the battery cell, wonder what kind of voltage comes out of there
