Hi :)

I am thinking of skipping the lavatube and going straight to the provari, however the one i want is not in stock at enjuice so i would have to order it from provape in the states.

Do you get hit with customs charges every time and if the order is ~140 pounds what would the rough charge be? If it is going to be too much then i am stuffed as i am a poor wee phd student ;)

thanks

Yes . . . you are likely to have a customs charge, which in itself is not so bad,
it's the additional ' handling ' charge from Parcel Force that I think is scandalous.

Last year when a lot of us bought one, the duty was around £8.00 . . . but the extra PF
payment was over £13.00 . . . although that varied from local depot to depot. :|

thanks perpetua, i would prefer not to order from the states, but enjuice never seems to have them in stock wheni have the money to buy one :)

I ordered some stuff from the States once - just don't do it - any EU-based supplier will not have customs charges in the UK. Post from the USA takes an age to arrive and the customs checks take ages too. And then there are the handling charges. It's well worth searching around for an EU supplier!!

thanks bobsy, i am looking for an eu supplier but not having much luck, so far i found one called pink mule but they are out of stock on the mini too :S

Couldn't you ask them to mark it as a "Gift" ?

I've heard this tactic mentioned on a different UK based forum and it seems to be something they advocate often.

This would involve provape marking it down as "Gift" though, and they may not do that.

Unfortunately that counts as knowingly conspiring to defraud HMRC, a criminal offence in this country.

And if a UK based forum is advocating such a tactic on an open forum, it's very silly and not a little stupid IMHO.

There's no easy answer I'm afraid Geo . . . it's either waiting for Enjuice to get them back in stock
or biting the bullet and ordering from the US . . . if you did get hit with extra charges, I can only
tell you that they would be worth every penny, no matter how galling it is to pay them. :)

The problem for US suppliers is if they mark the package incorrectly, either with regard to the contents or its value, then they have two problems:

- If the package is confiscated they lose everything

- If there is any kind of problem, of a more normal kind, again they are unlikely to be able to get their money back

I got one direct from Provape this week. Along with the battery extender and 1 battery.
On the form the goods were listed as an Electronic Flashlight :)
Values stated were $89.95 with $38 shipping.
The Charges I had to pay were £16.14 for import VAT (not too bad)
£13.50 Clearance Fee to Parcel Farce (What a rip off)
But all in all £29.64 was not too bad to pay and it arrived with me in 6 working days from order which I thought was great service.
I don't know if this changes your mind at all but I thought I would share my experience with you.
