On Feb 21 I ordered some (2 litres) 48mg juice from an American distributor. I received an email saying that it was to be shipped, and my credit card has since been charged for the amount owed. Since then, I've not seen any trace of it. At the time I ordered it I wasn't aware of the restrictions on importing it.

I've tried the last few days to get a tracking number from the vendor, but they haven't responded. They have a good rep here, so I'm not too worried about them.

Is it fair to assume that it has been confiscated by customs? What happens in this event, does it go back to the supplier? Do I have to become a smuggling ring crime-lord just to get liquid nicotine in this land of the free?

Thanks for any advice,
Mick

I've had an order from BWB after paying for the more expensive shipping take a month, and the cheaper shipping take a week and a half. Sometimes these things just take a long time unfortunately, I wouldn't give up hope yet.

Likewise, I've had packages from China reach me in 4 or 5 days, yet packages from the U.S take 2 weeks or more. Tracking sucks for the most part too.

All I know, and most of it is hearsay is that if Customs have your item, they should be sending you a letter shortly notifying you on the action that they will take with it.

Best of luck.

I ordered from Greenhouse one (china), kit and juice. Tracking showed that it left china, hit vamcouver, was stopped by customs, cleared customs and was delivered in 9 days.

I've ordered from nhaler, kit only. Tracking shows it was accepted at the P.O in new jersey 9 days ago. Nothing since. I would love to have my new Go-go to play around with over the weekend.

9 days to come across the ocean vs 9 days to travel a few thousand kms. Hmmmmm.

I don't think I'll be ordering from the US again :(

I recently placed a call to USPS regarding this issue, and the lack of tracking information. I would have you look at your tracking numbers and check the following:

Tracking numbers starting with LJ are issued to:
* First Class Mail
* Priority Mail Small Envelope
* Priority Mail Small Box
These packages are issued a tracking number but don't actually show you tracking information.

Tracking numbers starting with CJ are issued to:
* Priority Mail Medium box or anything higher than small.
These packages can be tracked every step of the way, and are processed faster somehow, i.e getting here in 5 days as opposed to 12 days with a LJ tracking number.

Custom delays aside, I really don't understand why it takes so long to ship from the U.S either.

It's an LJ. Thanks for the heads up.

Still hoping it's in the box when I get there later...

What if a tracking number begins with CP instead of CJ?

This has been the message I get when I track for the past 3 days :

Your item was accepted at 12:42 pm on March 15, 2011 in POOLER, GA

So basicly it says it's accepted but it hasn't yet shipped. in 3 days, I suspect it has shipped but they didn't update it yet ?

if customs has it, they sent it to Health Canada who will send you a letter telling you why it was held. You'll have 24 hours to 3 months to respond - depending on how fast they decide to send it back. They will not invite your response. Just contact Customs and - politely - ask for information, explain what is in the package, etc.

Eventually, IF it has been seized, it will be sent back to the originating address. After they've received it you can discuss with them what to do next. If it hasn't been seized though - it will show up. You'll breath a sigh of relief, load up your PV and have a great day.

Hard to tell with out a tracking number. I have an order that been sitting in Vancouver (as per tracking info) since the second of March. If it is in customs the trace will (should) tell you.

I got my order shortly after posting this message! Good thing, because my DIY juice really sucks. I just checked the CP tracking, it's still has it sitting in customs... Now I'm happily vaping some Blueberry. Good luck.

Well, it looks like if I'd waited a tad longer I wouldn't have needed to make this thread. I am very relieved to report that I am the proud new father of two litres worth of bouncing blue bottles of nic juice! It showed up earlier tonight, packaged specifically to throw off those dastardly miscreants at the border. Great camouflage, vendor!

I can make my own juice. I can make my own hardware. Let's see them try to stop me with anything less than a full blown raid, now. I can see health Canada planning Elliot Ness style raids for my farm. Mwahaha... who knew that being an outlaw could be so fulfilling?

Thanks again for all your reassurances. I'm still a little miffed at the vendor for not yet responding to my e-mails, but it's all turned out well in the end. Easily forgiven considering the extra mile they went to let my order slip through.

I also ordered from Greenhouse 1 (kit and juice). I ordered January 26th, it arrived in Canada February 6th and sat with customs until March 17th when my tracking number search said it left Canada. I'm guessing I was one of the unlucky people who got their packages immediately flagged, held up in customs and then finally denied entry.

Now its the waiting game again until Tim @ Greenhouse can set this straight. I'm not too sure if I should just cancel and get a refund minus the shipping charges or if I should continue to wait for a replacement. This has been my only order so far that had been denied. I ordered some juice from Juicy Vapor and it took about 10 minutes for it to clear customs.

It sucks because this is an order for about $100 worth of stuff.

You are just gambling like crazy when you order out of country. The only reason why I ordered out of country was because no vendor in Canada had the quantity of nic juice I was looking for. I got a big huge bottle of it. 125ml I think it was. Perhaps I should have gotten bigger, but I should be good for a few months to DIY some ejuice. I honestly don't think I will order out of country again for nic juice. I see that Vapables.com carries nic juice as well. I just wish they carried bigger bottles of it. But the free shipping they have offered over there is a good thing!

Tim at Greenhouse 1 has so far been responsive to my past emails. Its just up until now it was out of his hands as far as customs. I just want my order so now I am waiting for him to reply back to see if I can replace the cost of the juice I ordered and get just hardware that there will be less problems from customs. I could use a few more atty's and I have gotten my juice supplied from other vendors anyway. Customs can't refuse an order if its just hardware, right?

I hope it all goes well but as far as ordering from overseas I think I'm going to pass.
