Customs WARNING

I just spent all of Thursday morning at the Japanese Customs office (Okinawa) arguing my points to save my latest shipment from Tiny Deal. They were not having it. I lost 8 clearo and carto tanks to customs. Apparently you are only legally allowed to import 2 PER MONTH. I was able to pull two of them from the group of 10 along with all the batteries and chargers. I lost 2 vivi novas, 1 CE4, 1 DCT, 1 Protank knockoff, and a couple of other cheapies that I had ordered. I was able to save two of my Protank knockoffs, MVP V2.0, and my K200 mod. So be warned.....two clearo, carto, steam producing items per month!!

On the same note, my package from Chinabuye with 6 tanks is scheduled for delivery today. This includes 1 Kanger Protank, 1 Kanger Mini Protank, 1 Kanger Protank V2, 1 Kanger Mini Protank V2, and a few RBAs and RDAs. They went through customs on Friday (Kanagawa) and Japan Posts website has them in Okinawa ready for delivery today. Go figure!!

Now I am worried about buying any more tanks from China. I was looking at the Rocket and the UFS but I wouldn't want these to be taken by customs.

The K200 came in from the seized shipment. The only items that did not make it are the clearos and cartos.

The 4 Protanks and the RBAs made it safely to my door.

It is not even the money issue for the seized items. It is the fact that those were for beginner kits I was putting together for a friend and his wife to get them off the stinkies. Now I have to reorder the tanks from the US and ship to my FPO. Here goes the wait again. The one good thing though is orders from MyFreedomSmokes usually arrives in 7 days.

If given the choice, always try to use the mil addy. Japan customs can just be too damned ridiculous. Turned 2 of my packages shipped from HK back, but the same exact packages shipped from singapore came without a hitch. Rule of thumb is if its coming from china use the FPO. Might take longer but you wont have to dealcwith ridiculous customs people ever again

This is the first time in 14 years that I have had an issue with customs. During the whole do not ship batteries debacle, I was still receiving batteries from China with no issues. Now I know that there maybe issues with shipments that have tanks. I will either order only two tanks per shipment or have it sent to my mil address. I just wanted to get the word out to others that this may cause an issue for.

japan seems to be on/off with what they enforce. i had a bunch of fasttech orders with boxes of cartos and clearos, but they shipped via singapore post, so no issues whatso ever. couple weeks later, placed a similar order, and paid extra for the faster shipping, so it was shipped via HK post, and both packages never made it past narita. immediatly got turned around and reshipped from fasttech via singapore post, and they came, no problems.

anymore though, i just dont feel like dealing with customs, so i have been shipping them through my APO addy. unless its really pressing, i dont use my JP addy.

as for the on/off thing, i recently had a 10gallon can of motul 2 stroke oil shipped here from the states, right to my JP address, and they said not a word about it.
i have never dealt with tinydeal, so it may be company that japan has been watching as a merchant who is known to deal in bootleg goods. travelling to and from korea back to japan will get some extra scrutiny in the customs line because they know korea is a famous spot for people to go to buy bootlegs.

FWIW, fastech has the 50 pack of premade 1.8 and 2.0 ohm coils for cheap (if you dont have wick or kanthal) and they work great on vivi's and pretty much any other tank system out there. the wicks are nice and long too so you can trim them to whatever length you need...
