When I started my vape odyssey, I used 24 mg/ml or 2.4% by volume. Fast forward 12 months and I got to .06% by volume. My last batch of eliquids I made are now at .04% by volume. It's been a tough couple weeks. I didn't think this small of a cut back would make a big difference, but for me it did. I'm thinking about cigarettes more then ever!!! I keep telling my self it'll get easier as time goes by.... and I know it will.... just saying, this last drop in nicotine was really difficult for my body --- so far anyway. I'd like to shake the nic monkey completely. Not because I think there is anything wrong with nic. I think nic is totally fine. It's just that I don't want to feel the..... wanting?? for lack of better analogy. No plans to quit the vape, even if I can shake the monkey off. Just wish I could shake the nic addiction. I think I was born addicted !

Thanks for listening...

I switched to vaping at 18 mg and over about nine months reduced to zero nic. Since then I've vaped nic when I've felt like it. These days 3 mg is too much for me, I get over-nic symptoms. I would say 98% of the time I vape zero nic, the rest is at 1 1/2 - 2 mg.

I found that once the addiction to cigarettes was beaten down I was able to leave nicotine behind fairly easily. I believe for me nic alone without the rest of the chemical cocktail you get from cigs is not at all addictive, but I also believe not everyone is this lucky. My biggest issue when I was reducing nic was the loss of TH.

IMO, give it time to get pretty comfortable at a nic level before you reduce it again. Vaping is not going away next year, so you have time. You can also do things like vape lower nic juice at certain times of the day.

Best of luck with it :thumb:

I agree about the w/o cigarette nic, it isn't nearly as addictive ! Yes, I think I'll hang at this new low nic base until I'm quite comfortable with it. When I dropped from 12 to 6, it was not as uncomfortable as dropping from 6 to 4. Weird, but true. Maybe some psychological thing lol. TH w/o higher nic could very well be what I'm missing. Thanks for bringing that up. It's something I had not thought of.

It's nice to know I have y'alls ears to bend.

I vape either 3 mg or 6 mg liquid without noticing a difference. I am starting to think that nicotine may not be as addictive as we all believe. I would consider it to be in the same category as caffeine. It has a definite appeal but isn't the end all be all.

Cigarettes on the other hand are extremely addictive. I have been vaping for 8 months(started at 18mg) and have yet to lose my desire for one. I smoked when I went on vacation and by the end of my trip I wasn't even vaping(I switched back to vaping immediately after my trip). If vaping were addictive as a lot of people believe why is it so easy to give up yet cigarettes aren't? It was the only time in my 8 months that I smoked and I forgot how much of a grip they have on me. I don't think I will ever lose my desire for a cigarette but I much prefer vaping.
