Hi guys.

I started at 18mg but over 4-5 month gone down to 3mg and pretty happy with that. No cravings so far.

I'm hesitant to go to zero so I was gonna experiment a bit with 1.5-2mg

Has anyone tried this? Is the difference neglible? Should I just jump to zero and hope for the best? Would love some advice.

And as for 'why', I want to enjoy vaping but without the addictive nature of nic. Just what feels right to me.

When I was running 24 or 18, the taste wasn't all that important, as long as it was tolerable and not unpleasant. The lower I go, and the better my equipment gets, the less nicotine matters and the more taste matters. So... my suggestion would be to get the best tasting juice you can find. The 2 times I quit vaping altogether, I had just gone from 6mg to 3mg (on less classy juice) and there just wasn't enough payoff when I vaped to continue messing with equipment, charging batteries, toting it around and obtaining juice. Now I'm on 12, 6 and 3 and the flavor is enough to hold my interest. Along with chasing good new flavors, messing with mechs and rebuildables have made it more of an interesting hobby than a need or hassle.

Currently I'm vaping '0' nic most of the time, but occasionally feel the need to go a wee bit higher. Starting last month, my standby vape dropped from 6mg to 3 mg, and '3' does fine for me when I need it. Otherwise, I'm satisfied with PG, VG and flavoring. (I started out at 24mg, and never thought I'd be able to stop the analogs...but I DID! ;-))

I would never have been able to go so low in the short amount of time you've been vaping, but after more than two years, I had no problem.
Are you in a hurry??

Okay, I did the exact same sort of taper that you did. I started vaping at 16mg and eventually lowered myself to 3mg. After about two months I lowered myself to 1.5mg. It was no problem, but there are no juices that come in this strength so you will have to buy some nicotine and mix it yourself or find a B&M shop that will do it for you.

I stayed at 1.5mg for about a week and realized at that level, because of the bioavailability of nicotine in vapor, I was only absorbing 50% of that nicotine at best. So I dropped to 0mg. I've been at 0mg for 4 days now and experienced a little bit of anxiety and cravings (for nicotine not cigarettes) today but I only think thats because I know I have a bottle of nicotine fluid in my room lol.

It's truly no problem, but I would still recommend you take it as slow as possible and do what I did. Here's the plan: 1) Pick a day to drop your nicotine level. 2) Drop to 1.5 mg/mL. 3) Stay at 1.5mg/mL for two weeks 4) Pick a day to drop nicotine completely. 5) Drop to 0mg/mL. 6) Chain vape like crazy for the next week until you're through it. That's what I've been doing lol. It really has been easy, I promise you.

We're all different so it may not be the same for you but I am so happy now that I'm completely off of the nicotine. I feel like the cigarette part of my life is finally over with. Now it's just vaping, and not even an addiction to vaping, just purely doing it because I love it. Best part of 0mg/mL? The flavor of any and all e-juice, it's freaking amazing.

I have found that with better gear - i have gone from tanks to the RBAs i use now - reducing the nic has become easy. I'm not sure i'd use none at all, but if you are able to - then good for you!

I've gone from 24mg/ml to about 6mg/ml as my all day vape now, and noticed no difference.

You of course meant better gear...for you. ;) We all have different reasons why we do this thing the way we do.
